The Pentagon declared him Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown on July 1, 2009, and his status was changed to Missing-Captured on July 3, 2009.

The names listed above are the 2 most current American POW/MIA.

Why on Friday, National POW MIA Recognition Day does the media cover this day so lightly?

Why couldn't each and every newspaper in America have an update and pictures of these two young men of the front page on Friday National POW/MIA Day and updates on all POW/MIA from all wars?

Read below President Obama press release whicn included reads
"Until every story ends" is a solemn promise to those who wear the uniform of the United States that they will never be left behind or forgotten. On National POW/MIA Recognition Day.........

Did you know Friday was national POW/MIA Recognization Day? If no, bet you know when it is the day we celebrate Christamas, Thankgivings, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Day....etc.

Is Martin Luther King more of a hero than SPC Altai and PFC Bergadahl, or other POW/MIA from other wars who gave up their freedom and possibly their lives for OUR freedom.

Bet you a million dollars if SPC Altai and PFC Bergadahl were your son, daughter, father, mother, or loved one you would have known Friday was National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Until every story ends" is a solemn promise to those who wear the uniform of the United States that they will never be left behind or forgotten.

In closing, we need to do better are promise to all our American soldiers Until every story ends" is a solemn promise to those who wear the uniform of the United States that they will never be left behind or forgotten, as we have thousands oversees fighting and NEED TO KNOW our promise means more than words.

Come Home Safe SPC Altai and PFC Bergadahl, and all American POW/MIAs---I have not forgetton you and think of you every day----AND THANK GOD it is not me going thru want you are enduring every day---THE UNKNOWN and hope some day you will be released and reunited with your family. To their families, I pray for the return of your loved one. God Speed

The White House Release Thursday Sept 16, 2010

Office of the Press Secretary

For Immediate Release September 16, 2010 Presidential Proclamation--National POW/MIA Recognition Day
" On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we pay tribute to the American men and women who never returned home from combat, to those who faced unthinkable suffering as prisoners of war in distant lands, and to all servicemembers who have defended American lives and liberties with unwavering devotion. As a grateful Nation, we can never repay the profound debt to our heroes, and we will not rest until we have accounted for the missing members of our Armed Forces.

We demonstrate our deep gratitude and admiration for our brave patriots not in words alone, but in our actions to bring them home. Each year, specialists in our Department of Defense scour foreign battlefields and burial sites, interview witnesses, and search national and international archives for information about those missing from the Vietnam War, Korean War, Cold War, World War II, and other conflicts. Their work will not be complete, nor our commitment fulfilled, until the families of those taken or missing in action can rest knowing the fate of their loved ones.

On September 17, 2010, the stark black and white flag honoring America's prisoners of war and those missing in action will be flown over the White House; the United States Capitol; the Departments of State, Defense, and Veterans Affairs; the Selective Service System Headquarters; the World War II Memorial; the Korean War Veterans Memorial; the Vietnam Veterans Memorial; United States post offices; national cemeteries; and other locations across our country. It is a powerful reminder that our Nation will never cease in our task to recover, remember, and honor the courageous men and women who have served and sacrificed so much for each of us.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim September 17, 2010, as National POW/MIA Recognition Day. I urge all Americans to observe this day of honor and remembrance with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this sixteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand ten, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fifth.

BARACK OBAMA

There is so much that is wrong with this statement that I don't even know where to start.
This, however, is not the forum for political discussion.

They did NOT 'give up their freedom'. They volunteered to fight an illegal war based on outrageous lies.

I will say, however, that the insinuation about Dr. King is odious.

...and I thought that we who live in America ARE free....whatever they are fighting for has absolutely nothing to do with freedom, but has a lot to do with control of the world's petroleum resources. Why are we not fighting Saudi Arabia, for example, from whence came 13 of the 9/11 hijackers.

Someone once said that when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and holding a Bible. Be careful what you wish for.
