Does anyone have any 1bedroom rentals in St John. Looking for a safe clean unit can be condo, apt, loft doesnt really matter for a 6 month or 1 year lease. I am trying to move to the island in next 30 days before season starts. Giving up on the rat race here in the states and gonna come try island life. Can pay several months up front if necessary.

I am33 year old working currently in medical device sales here in the states and very excited about a possible move to the islands. I have experience in mortgages/real estate prior to getting into medical device sales and would be willing to even bartend or wait tables as i did that working through college. Dont get me wrong i like to have fun but i need to work to be able to stay on the island long term.

You may want to contact a licensed Realtor to help with your search.
I can reccommend BJ Harris at St. John Properties.
She is a Realtor and can help you find a rental suitable for your needs and budget.
She may need help in her office if you are qualified.

You might be able to ask someone at Connections in STJ to take a few pics of their bulletin board which is The Hotspot for STJ rentals and email the pics to you.

You can call Scenic Properties and see what they currently have or will have coming open 340-693-7777. I don't really recommend signing a lease on a place sight unseen. If you can come down and stay at someplace like Samuel Cottages (cheap, no car necessary) for a week or two, you are going to have a much easier time finding a good place to live and a job.

It is difficult to get work here without being here. We are mostly all small independent employers. If you want to go the corporate route again, you can apply with the Westin or Caneel before you arrive. The only other place that I can think of would be Little Switzerland/Jewels. The rest of us usually hire word of mouth, or put postings up at Connections.

Good luck! I do suggest you make a visit before you move here. It is just a lot easier to find someplace to live, get leads on jobs, and network in general (which is pretty important here).
