Mid island STX.

ATT service.

Get 2-3 bars from the west end of my gallery but the rest of the property is marginal.

Suggestions appreciated.

Get an AT&T microcell.
It is a router that connects your cell to your Internet connection. I have one and it works great around the house. Cuts your 3/4G Internet use too- because you're using the net instead of cell tower to access. Faster too. And easy to set up.

Note: if you complain enough they'll give you a discount.

Are you in the USVI using the ATT Microcell ? I use it in New York City, but it has not worked on STX when I've tried to connect -- it looks at a GPS signal to verify your location.

This was the conversation I put on the last thread about this....although I have not checked in the past 2 months.

I'll check at Sunny Isle in the next few days, but I "chatted" with ATT online about my Microcell account and they said no.

I have checked recently both at the Sunny Isle store and on line and the micro cell is still not set up to work on STX.

My bad. I'm not on STX anymore.
When I was, it was reported in the local paper that it was coming (two years ago) and it was discussed on this board. Friends on the northshore were very excited about it. Microcell requires GPS coordinates to be entered into their database, and is related to the newer E-911 service which I believe the island just upgraded to, so perhaps?

On ATT's microcell support site there are numerous entries where people have gotten AT&T to add their location. So maybe if enough of you complained in their monitored support site, it would happen.

According to SPRINT's website, their AIRAVE (air-rave) works in the Virgin Islands. "Virgin Islands" is one of the options in the availability box too. Airave is Sprint's name for a microcell.

Try Z-Boost. Works well for us on STX. Cheapest price is on e-bay.

I too am looking for a cell boost. I had the Zboost, and it did no good in the solitude area.

Just ordered one from:

www.cellantenna.com

Not cheap @ $400.00 but the guy will ship priority mail for $25.

Comes highly recommended by a friend in the BVI's

I'll report when I get it set up.

The important thing to remember before wasting your money on a cell amp is that you need signal outside where the outdoor antenna will be.
Otherwise you are amplifying nothing. 100 x 0 = 0..............

If you can get good signal outside but not inside they work well. Also, the higher you can get the outdoor antenna the better. Read the directions and make sure you have proper separation between the indoor and outdoor antennas!
