We've all made mistakes. As you said, we learn from them and it shapes our character.

Some people never change, others change for the better.

Those that change for the better should not be condemned.

Well, he admitted it was shameworthy, so I'm gonna go with that. I don't think gloating about crime (to say nothing of PROFITING from it) should be condoned. I don't care how much you're now a model citizen.

Unless it's like a bad law, you know, slavery, cannabis, whateverthefuck they're doing in Ferguson, etc. Civil disobedience. But I don't think that's what noOne was talking about.

Just my HO.

I dunno where I was gloating about it. As far as the profits, I plan to setup a trust fund for my new niece (born the day before yesterday!) with only administrative costs being taken from it for all of the profit.

If someone throws out in public their wrong-doings, its normally cleansing for them and shows that they are willing to change. They also know that there will be reactions that run the gamut which they are prepared for as well.

I worked on a documentary film where someone that is very talented let the world see the ugly side of ruining their life. We ALL do wrong things and I believe that is one of the many reasons we are here…to explore, grow, f*ck up, love, lose, etc. Takes a lot of huevos to deal with the wrath of others. Personally, I would rather throw it out there and get rid of it and work on myself in the future. Half the battle is to let go, the other half is to forgive yourself and try to make things right. Some might take it as they are talking about it for profit, not the case, I have found that most want to pay it forward.

I am most definitely not perfect and I commend anyone that is willing to change and the first step of changing is accountability. Second step is healing others and trying to heal your life. Third, is forgiving yourself….thats a difficult one. So anyway before I ramble on….none of us are perfect and IMHO we were her to evolve in some way and this is a major change in noOne's life to let go of that with accountability and do something good.

Assuming that there WILL be any profit!

Jamison was more than correct when he said this forum has a negative nature. And Biggiebigs said its weird how people treat each other on here. I couldn't agree more. I would say ugly & mean spirited. And its supposed to be a helpful forum for relocating. Sad. LMAO.

petra, a lot of what you might interpret as mean spirited is just banter, dry humor and sarcasm. that does not make it mean at all and we are a very helpful bunch. i don't know how much of the posts you have read but the majority of people who come here searching for answers to their questions, get them answered. That does not mean it is what they want to hear. some of the posters on here have been on this forum for years, and it seems we know when it is being mean and when it is not-newer posters might not.. i have seen a few mean spirited posts, some i shake my head at, some i respond to. if they are made towards me i will reply back either in public or PM.

biggiebiggs might not be the best one to take advice from as one of his posts was removed. was one of yours removed also?
most people do not attack personally, some do. i do not believe in calling names for the most part. someone was rude to me a few weeks ago and others came to my defense and i pm'd her because it was totally uncalled for, we do stick up for others if we see a post that is too negative or way off the mark. again either on the post or a pm.

i also think if we were to all meet , we would probably all get along.

Get togethers among forum members used to be a regular thing. That ended around 2009, which is roughly when this forum became so negative that (I'm supposing) nobody could stand the thought of meeting each other any more.

Well, actually TWO of my posts have been removed since I have been on this forum for 6 weeks and seeing whats going on..

1] saying that calling Old Tart an "Old Fart" sounds like troll behavior to me

2] telling janeinstx a few choice words regarding referencing blow jobs when I was asking about a 24 hour pharmacy for my mother

And you will see plenty more of my posts removed when I feel like sticking up for myself or calling someone else out for uncool behavior.

How about setting up a trust fund for a victim's advocacy group?

Hey spartygrad - it's it interesting to see what your original post devolved into? <grins>

Some of the most interesting threads often start with something completely different (on any board, not just this one)

You betcha! Roosters and cock fighting are right up there too!

East-Ender A vet tech at Dr, Moore's gave me the name and phone number of a guy that will come and trap chickens and roosters and take them away. PM me if you would like his contact number. I have my own trap and give fowl I trap to a farmer on properly zoned land that has a no escape pen - with a top, bottom and 4 sides. I checked.

Oh, the hens are fine. It's the roosters that are a$$holes. There are posts on here somewhere of a particular rooster in C'sted who used to harass me every morning at 4AM. I also had a friend who nearly came to a lawsuit/blows/attempted rooster homicide after the neighbor acquired a rooster as a "pet". This "pet" liked to perch on the adjoining property fence and ... uh ... "talk" every morning, every five minutes, from 3AM until I couldn't stand it anymore and left.

You only need roosters if you want more chickens. Hens will lay you perfectly lovely eggs without the help of a rooster.

IT,
former farm-sitter who took care of (among other critters) roosters, hens, geese, and goats.

However, hens will attract roosters to your property and soon you can be over-run with more chickens and roosters than you can imagine.

It's good to nip it in the bud before it gets to be overwhelming or you'll be listening to energizer bunny roosters that crow incessently starting in the wee hours and continuing throughout the day, each and every day.

They are perfectly acceptable on a farm on appropriately zoned land and hopefully far enough away from residential properties that it would not be a problem.
If you like that sort of thing.

Yeah, I've discovered that people on STX who own roosters as "pets" or part of their "farmettes" aren't so concerned about things like zoning laws. They'd rather poison your dog if you complain.

My only point was to go ahead and get rid of the roosters; but leave the hens alone. Fresh eggs are great, and hens are docile and friendly and can even become housepets. And if you don't know if your hens are being impregnated, check your eggs before you collect and refrigerate them.

Sorry, I do not want any hens or roosters on my property, at all and luckily nor do my neighbors so a we have a stray hen and rooster watch and set traps when spotted.
In a year and a half period, a few years ago, I trapped and relocated 29 hens and chicks and 8 roosters to the nice farmer. Had my fill. Had a nice lull in activity but I just noticed
2 hens coming to eat my cat's food so time to break out the trap and relocate them too.
Once hens show up, the roosters are sure to follow so one must nip it in the bud.
