Heard a rumor an Indian restaurant had recently opened on stx. Near plaza extra east? Any truth to that?

Yes, the rumors are true. Its in the same little plaza that Napolean Pizza is across from Cost U More. I haven't been there yet but friends say its good.

Menu changes weekly. Ate there last week. Food was good but a bit pricy for Indian food. Location is not where Napoleons pizza is, but next alley to the west. Good decor, friendly service. I'll be back.

The Chinese food in the VI is high compared to other places and the quality is so-so. If the Indian food is good, it should be worth the price since it's the only one. We don't have one on STT, unfortunately.

I"ve eaten there, went the opening day.... pretty good stuff and the family that runs it are always very nice (they took two of our rescue goats from the CruzanCowgirls "ranch", for pets, not food silly smiley )

I have been there three times, the pre-opening "party", opening night and last Wednesday night. The food is good. Not great but good. The best Indian restaurant on St Croix! I will go back.

I was a little shocked to pay $9 for a "Dark and Diet". Especially considering the parking lot ambience and no AC.

The prices for food seem a little high, but every dish comes with two sides. The portions are good.

I am willing to pay extra for something that has not been available before on STX.

You can buy a bottle of rum for that price. I get markup. It's ok. $6 is the going rate so 50% higher is ridiculous.

Hope it's better than the Indian food establishment in downtown Christiansted.

I was wondering also. Can't be talking about Singh's , since that isn't an Indian Food restuarant. More Trinidadian and local.

maybe heavyd means Galangal? which is actually South East Asian/Thai ...I've always enjoyed my meals at Galangal, but would admit they have small portions and high prices, but they have a nice ambiance (inside)...

as for the Thali Indian Grill I would agree the food was good, not great, -- potions were small for the price (and it was expensive for Indian, especially as noted with the open air garage setting - although it is decorated nicely). The service was as usual slow, but very nice and accommodating... drinks were too expensive....
I'll be returning now and again....

$9 for Cruzan....in a garage....on an economically depressed island, where Cruzan is made? Really? Are you sure that wasn't for 2, maybe?? I was excited to hear of an Indian restaurant, but not so much, now.....
