Whiteflies on tomatos

Has anyone had any luck with getting rid of whiteflies on tomatos? So far I've tried neem and a pyrethrin spray, but to no avail! Any other ideas?

In a spray bottle mix water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid and a few teaspoons of vegetable oil. You won't be completely rid of the whiteflies but when you spray the mixture on the leaves (make sure to hit the undersides) the sticky coating doesn't give the adults or their eggs a strong base to attach to. Frankly, I've found growing tomatoes here to be too much of a challenge - fun, but a lot of work for a meager reward!

I'm starting to feel that way too, but a fresh tomato would be so tasty! If I can get them going, I'll send some your way! Thanks for the advice!

Buy the insecticide spray. Spray the entire plant, especially the underside of the leaves, leave on for a while then use a sharp spray of your hose and spray inside, outside up and down, do it for 3-4 consecutive days. Also look at any other near by plants and treat them to. When the green tomato worms come but some BT and spray everyday until they are gone. No spray rince with the BT.
Nothing like a home grown tomato.

As Bombi said the trick is to spray the ENTIRE plant, not just top sides of leaves. This is where people can goof. If you dont get a good coat of spraY all over the bugs just move around to untreated areas. OT's recipe is good, they also sell something similar but has not pepper extract in it that in my experience works a bit better but is close to the same thing. I have had great luck with 'maters and this is a great time of the year for em

I boil some really hot chilies, throw in some garlic, after it is cool I mix it with water in a spray bottle along with a good squeeze of dawn, then completely soak the plants with the mixture. Those white flies hate the chilies.
