STX Isogenics Cult

Has anyone else been pestered by acquaintances trying to sell them on Isogenics lately? Its seems I'm hearing about this more frequently from people I barely know.

Its gotten so bad that the people who run the St. Croix Big Island Adventure Camp have been trying to get the teenage camp counselors to try a "cleanse" which I find abhorrent.

This is just one example of many I've come across regarding this pyramid scheme.

I'll bet there are others here on the board who've been approached by cult members.

This is a hilarious read, debunking the program which - like every other of its ilk - is simply a vastly overrated and stupid weight loss program for gullible mortals:

Check out the ingredients in the goop - chemical overload for true!

It's been around for about 15 years. It's not a ":cult" but a pyramid scheme like all the rest. Buy the products and get discounts on your own products by selling to everyone you know and then in turn get them to join up and benefit financially from their sales. Just say no as you would (hopefully) to the purveyor of snake oil.

All that multi level marketing stuff borders on cult like status including the peddlers of "essential oils". Listen, I like the house smelling good like anyone, but these people try to tell you how to cure illness with it and I even saw a "treating your pets with essential oils" class at Hull Bay Hideaway about a month ago. If it wasn't for my wife I was going to go and everytime an outrageous claim was made I was going to yell "citations or gtfo"

There are essential oils which are proven to repel insects but they have to be reapplied frequently to be of any lasting benefit.

"I've heard" is something which Drumpf says a lot and what he's heard is usually dead wrong but then he gets his information from the internet (he said it) ... big grin

I have no doubt that Isogenics will do well here. My husband is a pharmacist and a week doesn't go by with out someone coming to the pharmacy looking for something to "clean my blood". Years ago when he first started practicing here he had no idea what people were asking for. Cleansing is big here

Cleansing is big everywhere because apparently many people are living without livers or kidneys is my best guess. Mind you these products are completely unregulated thanks to the good Senator from Utah Mr.Hatch whose kids peddle woo

Cleansing has been around for ever. As ancient as I am I remember newspaper ads back when I was a child in the UK which proclaimed, "Colonic Irrigation Stimulating". So you have a choice - a hose up your bum or a vile concoction down your gullet to scour out all those alleged impurities. Bloody daft.

My new favorite woo is the people selling alkaline water/alkaline diets on the premise that cancer can only survive in acidic environments. Your lungs and hypothalamus might disagree with your attempts to alter your body pH

This camp is run by AZ Academy on their grounds--are they also influencing their students...?

So what age do you consider to be geriatric anyway? 50? 60? 70? I'm asking because colonoscopies are recommended at the age of 50, which I most certainly do not think of as being a geriatric age. Would be most interested to hear from my dear friend Sparty as well as from Bored.

I thought you were all geriatric, according to Bored. Listen, I'm closing in on my poopchute being invaded too, and don't considered myself geriatric. I mean I just said poopchute. Twice
