Hello, coming to St Croix for the month of April, staying on the East End. What are the grocery store options. I like red meat, does one store have a better selection than another? I heard that Food Town is good . Thanks...............

Make the trip to Annalay for local meats. Sadly I can't eat anything else anymore without getting really sick. For sure allergic to stateside beef - the preservatives they use.

Never been to the butcher at foodtown. Is it local meats?

Also other than in sunny isles isn't Seaside the only store out there? Too expensive for me lol.

CostUless, have a pretty good meat selection. Great steaks available at the right times.
Check out Quality Foods restaurant supply too.

Nearly everywhere is on a "hit & miss" schedule though. If your lucky to walk into a place right after a delivery, go crazy.

Don't plan on shopping on a weekend.
By that time everything is picked over and/or lacking.
Grocery stores generally get fresh produce and shipments in on Monday and Tuesday if anything like on STT. I generally shop for groceries on Wednesdays.
Enjoy your month in STX.

I used to love Seaside, but they seemed to raise their prices from our previous visit. Anyways, I haven't found anywhere that has consistent quality red meat, I think you'll just have to stop at a few places and see what you can find. I will try food town next time as the last time I was there, the lunch meats case was empty. Plaza extra east has good prices on bottled water and they have the largest selection I feel and prices are pretty good.

If looking for real clean meats, Annaly Farms or Quality warehouse food store in Castle Coakley off Hess Road for organic meats. Every meat I've bought from Cost U More was bad in two days! Anything not organic is full of the crap that they inject into them or the stock has only been fed GMOs.

There are no shortage of grocery stores servicing the East End. Seaside Markup, Stop & Rob, Puebno are all in the east end.

I don't understand this change of name--Cost You More, etc. Sounds like grade school.
If you don't like the place, don't spend your money there.

I didn't say that I didn't like them...that's how they're referred to in my circle of friends.

I do "avoid" Seaside Markup except for sandwiches because their prices are ridiculous however, I do like Stop & Rob and go there every morning for my newspaper.

I knew I wasn't the only one. It was the same for me, right from day one that's how they were introduced to me, except Seaside, that used to be called Schooner Bay Markup.
