I don't Think I know this author but her 4 part series on living here seemed fairly accurate from a newcomer -- [if you abhor F*** bombs don't click] -- otherwise a great writer.
We often hear requests for more Moving Stories so I thought maybe this is one that would interest people inquiring on this forum.

Perhaps I should not have posted it with the liberal profanity. If it needs to be removed by the moderator or community so be it.

Ramblings of the 26 yo airhead. Enthusiastic one for sure. She can't see past her nose yet.

She's a 35 year old woman who has a kid.

She was 24 when she visited STT, then it took 10 years to move - she's been on island for at least a year.

Did you just look at the pictures?

The photo gallery looks like it should be on a "seeking sugar daddy" site.

Don't see an issue with this post. The profanity is not here. She's apparently married and I got the impression she's been resident on island for a few years now.

Her statement about politics reflects a prevalent Statesider mentality. Throughout the Caribbean politics is a huge issue and I was warned about it by a history professor before I moved here. No mattter where you live you need to be aware of the issues and vote.

Imo, many of the Caribbean living blogs are written with the intent of garnering attention. They seldom reflect my reality.

Everyone's reality is so different here.

I work in an office 9-5 five days a week.
Others work on dive boats.
Others own stores.
Others work on farms.
Others bartend and waitress.

So many different realities.

I enjoy reading about other people's realities.

If I were to create a blog it would include my conversation yesterday with Judith. Of E's Teagarden in town on St Thomas.

Last week it was a review of the new St Thomas restaurant Salt and Vinegar in Nisky.

When I visit the "states" I see many of the same issues we complain about here.

No matter where we live there are differences depending on where we lived Stateside. If it's a grocery item, I ask a store if they can get it.

I just saw first four parts yesterday, didn't see that she had posted more. The language bothers me because I don't think it's necessary. Also, it seems to be a sign of a generation who feel "it is all about me." Does her mother like how she writes? Do children run across her blog?

The pictures are definitely all about me...

thumbs up Thought the same thing, EE.
I like the Women who live on Rocks blogs.
[womenwholiveonrocks.com]
The multiple f..bombs are really unnecessary and detract, IMO, from the writing which isn't all that hot, either.
It is interesting to see what newbies freak out about, like or dislike, however, after all my decades of living in VI.

Wait until her little girl starts emulating her favorite word!

So much truth in what she says. F-bombs or not. Many people speak like that, and her writing reflects how she would tell it to you.

Overall a good read for someone thinking about moving to the VI, or someone living here that can relate and get a few laughs.

And when her little girl starts talking with a total St. Thomian accent [with some of those words] will be an eye opener for her I think.

Maybe, I should write a blog about the changes and challenges that I experience moving to the states after living in the VI!
Turn around is fair play, after all!

A blog could be great; but absent that, a post here summarizing your initial observations would be very enlightening.

No need for your rudeness, JohnnyU.
Quite unnecessary and unwanted.
