OK, just looking for suggestions! Harvey hit Texas and Walmart was matching donations to the red cross, gave there. Irma hit and Walmart was matching donations to the red cross (for Irma relief) gave there. Saw on this forum a post about Tim Duncan matching donations (up to a million) for the islands and gave there. Now where else would donations do the most good for the USVI. I read this morning In USA Today that East Island Excursions (out of Fajardo, Puerto Rico) has made more than 40 trips moving people out of St John at no cost (the company has spent almost $80,000.00). Think I will try and find more like this to give to! others?

Absolutely. People please, donate to you local Animal Shelters. These poor animals have nothing and need your help. They're all alone in the world.

Some animals can't be gotten off island, I'm going through round 2 of hurricane-horse-hiding.

we are mostly self funded via tourism, dunno if that's going to be an option for a while, the beaches were already hit hard from irma & the rain forest lost it's canopy; maria is going to make it a bit worse I think.

Came in from work last night and spent some time online looking and donated to Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (USVIRecovery). Didn't even think of animal shelters (Good idea Speedy1). Will search some more tonight after work. Also watched the late evening news. Take care Islanders, Our Prayers Are With You!

Prayers to all our future neighboors from the show-me state of Missouri. Looking to move to STX in a few years. We want to help our future commuity in the best way possible. I am looking to get in touch with anyone who is organizing labor and volunteers to come to STX in the coming weeks. Please put me in touch if there are organizations looking for help. We are donating $$, but would love to come and help out in person. God bless.

OK got online last night and did some more research. Saw your link to usvirecovery Scubadoo and even though I gave to them I wasn't sure about where that money will be spent (it says on the foundation website that they are a fiduciary to more than 100 smaller funds or charities, I would like to know exactly where the money went), oh well, probably better than no donation. Went to East Island Excursions website and facebook page (what these people did was amazing. carrying donated food, water and other items to the USVI as soon as the storm was over and ferrying those in need back to Puerto Rico at no cost then back again over 40 times WOW). I tried to donate through their Paypal link but it did not work (will work on that later, hope their boats and business survived Maria). So I looked and easily found the Humane Society of STT and Animal Care Center of STJ found it very easy to give a donation to both using Paypal. I started this topic hoping locals and others (like my wife and I, who love the islands) would chime in on where they think donations would help the most. Please if anyone would like to add to the list or talk about who's doing what GO WITH IT!
