At the end of the article, they say the perpetrator is "known".

What was this clown going to do with a stolen Linemens Truck anyway???

Hurting those that are here to help....unbelievable.

Was wondering that myself. We'll you know it's not like STJ is a small island where there's only limited number of placed to hide a truck. Er..... Maybe he thought he was going to steal the gas/diesel.

It's my understanding that this person has had trouble with the law in the past. Also heard that he hasn't been 'stable' recently. My thoughts are with the injured lineman, their family, and friends.

Untreated mental illness unfortunately sometimes leads to this. It's tragic, and the linemen know this isolated incident is not reflective of the STJ community. We are all horrified and hoping the injured workers make a full recovery.

I think he was more interested on what was on the truck than the truck itself. Like copper wire.

Don't copper thieves understand that it is only bringing about 2.40 a pound? You gotta really hit the motherload to make any money worth the trouble and risk. Back when it was bringing big money they were cutting grounding rods off at the ground but didn't realize they were only copper coated.

Not for most copper thieves, they aren't usually that sharp. They were copper coated zinc. Still soft to cut. Some of the new cheap grounding rods are made like the new pennies.
