Working in USVI on workers permit

Hi, I am from the UK. I have a workers permit to work in the USA, I am waiting for my green card to come through. Can I go to USVI to work or will I get in trouble l?

You can work in the USVI with valid USA work papers. Make sure You have valid ID's, your US. social security card and be prepared to fill out an I9. The company I work for has many down island temporary residents working for us.
