He was running for a STT/STJ senate seat but did not make it thru the primary.
Thought I'd share.

I do agree that we need more accountability in terms of districting, reduced salaries, perks and benefits which the present and past senators are allowed to give themselves (bill 6905) increases. We need candidates willing to serve the people that elect them and not themselves.
We need term limits on how long a Senator can hold consecutive office without a few years time out in between and we need a reduction of the number of senators.

I find it hard to believe that with a couple of exceptions, the majority of the people seeking to be elected to the Legislature are not up in arms about our $6.9 Million Dollars that the present sitting Senators have not yet, even with pending court action by the Daily news, seen fit to discuss with the voting public that elected them to office.

I just might take the expressed sentiments a little more seriously if the writer knew the difference between a ballad and a ballot. big grin

I have to agree with OT on this one, there are a few grammatical errors... "Snyder" Hospital? If you don't care enough to spell check or have someone proof-read something as important as a policy statement, what else would you overlook. I had a government contract drawn up by an attorney with a math error... Just sayin'.

Too bad there isn't a button for "integrity check"... The guy wasn't running for "English Teacher." Come on, you could figure out which hospital name was intended? Did you read for the content or just to find the auto correct errors?

"Come on" indeed. I suppose one might assume that someone who can't usually put together a simple one paragraph statement without using a spell checker half a dozen times and editing two or three times could find a public statement rife with grammatical and spelling errors not to be problematic. Outright rudeness to those who happen to disagree isn't necessary.

The discussion seems to have taken an unecessary turn.

I would expect, if not demand, that my elected leaders, responsible for, among other things, writing and codifying our nation's laws and appropriating hundreds of millions of tax dollars annually be in position to exude a minimum coherance of the written word. If your grasp of the English language is below what the electorate would expect from their leaders, it's probably not best to vote such an individual in to public office. There is an enormous pool of literate, well read individuals seeking to serve the Territory.

Indeed, I was not anticipating a discussion about misspelling.
There are quite a few of us that make spelling mistakes and fail to use spell check, myself, included, that are very well educated.
I'll be sure to e-mail the guy and let him know that even tho he has really good ideas and is making an effort tho he has nothing to gain by continuing to do so for the upcoming election, he'll never make it without using spell check.

The ideas in the link were what I had hoped to have comments on but................
