I just watched President Barack Obama's farewell speech.
It had me in tears.
To see such a great president leave to be replaced by someone of trump's ilk is indeed DEPLORABLE.

Trump is on target to violate the Constitution the moment he takes the oath of office

Read on:

We have had smart presidents and dim ones, effective ones and incompetents, successful ones and unaccomplished ones. Until now, we have never had one for whom it was legitimate to question at the onset of his presidency whether he could fulfill his oath to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

As things stand now, President-elect Donald Trump has suggested he will not divest himself of a myriad of businesses around the globe that pose serious conflicts of interest, nor will he liquidate even foreign holdings, the proceeds of which would put him in violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution.

In an academically sound and federal court brief quality paper, Norman Eisen, Richard Painter and Laurence Tribe conclude:

"Careful review of the Emoluments Clause shows that the Clause unquestionably applies to the President of the United States; that it covers an exceptionally broad and diverse range of remunerative relationships (including fair market value transactions that confer profit on a federal officeholder); and that it reaches payments and emoluments from foreign states (including state-owned and state-controlled corporations)."

I am not a Trump fan. I would never have voted for him. I just believe that he is a better choice than Clinton or Obama 2.0.

I am an Atheist Libertarian. I vote for individual freedom. My only hope for Trump is that he shuts down all of Obama's policies.

Kill Obamacare ASAP, especially the individual and employer mandates. Enforce our immigration laws, deport illegals. Get us out of the UN. Revisit global warming without preconceived conclusions. etc.

So many things to change.....

LOL, Gator's Mom.

I'm having a delightful time following trump's Twitter feed these days. Today he's congratulating Liinda Bean's "support and courage" for over-donating to him, and telling us all to buy from LL Bean! Wonder if there were advertising fees over and above her extra donation money.

The laughs just keep on coming.

These are the 30 million people who got health insurance by extorting their fellow citizens to pay for their premiums.

You want insurance then you pay for it, you don't get the government to force others to pay for your insurance.

I had O'Care for 2 years before I moved here. Paid my total premiums out of my own pocket. Thoroughly happy that former deadbeats no longer forced me to pay for their medical expenses without paying a little into the system, as they'd been doing for the 39 years I'd been purchasing insurance. I also have a soul, so am willing to subsidize those who can't afford the whole premium.

Good for you!

I believe we should each be able to decide for ourselves whether we want to participate or not. You know, it's called individual freedom.

I certainly have no problem with starting a co-op that people can voluntarily join to share the cost of healthcare. The key point is "voluntarily join". If this is such a great and popular idea then everyone would voluntarily join, right? No extortion would be required.

Idealistically, I can almost agree with you. Realistically, though, the public has been on the hook for others' medical costs, and always will be, unless we want them to die. And I sure don't want that. So, I'm all for the "extortion" of those who can contribute. Again, I was "extorted" for decades, by people who neglected to purchase insurance when they could have, and then had catastrophic illnesses.

Having worked in the insurance industry for over 2 decades, I've seen the hospital agreements with the insurance companies, where the insurance companies agreed to pay out extra to help cover the uninsured costs, on hospital charges already inflated for the same purpose.

History of US Health Care System

I think Mr. rotorhead should establish his own insurance cooperative and back the risk with his retirement savings.

Wait .... that's what we're going to get! Yay, so forward thinking!

And if you don't have any savings retirement or otherwise?

Without access to adequate insurance or ability to pay for health care, you're going to die younger and sooner anyway. Particularly if you have a pre-existing condition.

Perfect plan!

BTW - You're probably better off in the VI with public hospitals that offer some promise of care without a bankroll.

Many voting Americans have known exactly where the Republicans stand that's why they are now the majority in both houses of Congress. If the left keeps up the same rhetoric the Republicans will have 60 votes in the Senate in two years.
When they passed the unaffordable care Act it was straight down party lines, That is why they don't have enough votes to stop it from being repealed now. They literally shoved it down our throats without even reading it. In the V.I. they expanded welfare with the money and here we are with no available insurance to purchase.
Trump soon come

"Remember when those pesky other branches of government wouldn't bow down to Obama's whims, and the president famously bragged about going it alone? Now Obama's out and it will soon be Donald Trump wielding his pen and phone.

As Barack Obama bids farewell to his presidency this week, keep in mind these five scary powers that President Trump will inherit from him."

We don't have to worry about the uninsured. They'll just continue to go to the hospital ER anywhere in the US at a cost orders of magnitude over a family doctor visit and the rest of us with insurance will continue to pay for the uninsured just as it used to be. Make America great again.

Hahaha. Just like having someone born in Kenya as president is treason?
