Re: Virgin Island Constitution approved - 8 years ago
There are allot of beautiful islands in the world. I really suggest that if people feel like they are being treated as second class citizens that they stop investing their hard earned dollars in the virgin islands. There are plenty of other places that welcome people of all backgrounds. Look at the Dominican Republid, when Cuba finally opens up do you really think any tourist is going to waste thby stcmike - General/Relocating

Paradise Radio - going out of business? - 8 years ago
I've written an inquiry previously on this subject. It seems the radio broadcast is not available over the internet. Its been this way for now a month. I've e-mailed the office (via their webpage) but I never get a response back. Today I called the office and the phone continued to ring with no one picking up. I know the economy is very tough these days, especially in advertising but I would hateby stcmike - General/Relocating
Re: paradise radio - 8 years ago
I called their office this morning, they were unaware that the broadcast is not coming through the internet. I just tried their internet connection and still no sound, you get the message ready but no sound comes out. Its been that way since Mondayby stcmike - General/Relocating
Re: paradise radio - 8 years ago
are you able to get it over the internet?by stcmike - General/Relocating
paradise radio - 8 years ago
Is Paradise radio still broadcasting? I only get to hear it via the internet and the last several days when I click on the broadcast icon, nothing happens? Is anybody else experiencing the same situation? By the way just in case anyone from the station is reading this post, you really should have a live talk show at night and on the weekendsby stcmike - General/Relocating
Re: burglaries - 8 years ago
How could anyone be arrested 20 times and not be sentenced to a jail term? Also if someone is from a prominent family (whatever that means) that family's name should be publicized. Tell us. If something is kept secret things will never changeby stcmike - General/Relocating

Re: debating the move - 8 years ago
Stay in New York, its the greatest. plus it only snows about 6 or 7 days a year. That is when you go skiing or ice skating or on vacation to Key West or St. Croix. Besides kids who grow up in the city have a certain sharpness to them that never leaves them during the rest of their lives, They tend to be go getters, people who make things happen as oppose to being to laid back waiting for things tby stcmike - General/Relocating
St. C condo living - 8 years ago
I am thinking about purchasing a condo, St. C. I plan on living in it 3 months a year and the remainder would be vacant. I don't want to rent it out. I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences people may have had with living at St. C. Would theft/break ins be something for me to be concerned with while I am not there? Thanks in advance for all of your advice.by stcmike - General/Relocating

Re: Delegates agree.... - 9 years ago
The native VI people have done a great job in running the islands, that is why the education system is so good here, no crime, great roads, great customer service and no political corruption. Have you noticed that amy economic development here is always created by native virgin islanders. Who needs outsiders Actually maybe we should ban native virgin islanders from holding any officeby stcmike - General/Relocating
Re: retirement in US VI - 9 years ago
2000 a month in the islands - forget about it Retirement is a time to enjoy yourself not to be worried about the high costs of food and electricity, poor medical services, high crime rates and just general poor customer service (like waiting 15 minutes on line in a MacDonalds) that you get in the VI. I suggest you look at North Carolina, maybe Charlotteby stcmike - General/Relocating

Re: Enfield Green on STX - 9 years ago
I don't think Airplane noise is a big factor, because there aren't that many flights going into the airport. I think Enfield Green is one if not the biggest values in VI real estate. The land is flat so its an easy build. The homes are well kept, there is essentially a private beach and the Stanford Financial group is building their headquaters right down the road. In real estate, you make your mby stcmike - General/Relocating
