Quotestjohnjulie Was hoping for your input on this one AandA2VI! I've done some websites and social media stuff for people in the past but I have always done it for straight barter and only for people I really like ;-) I had the chance to work with AandA2VI on a project I was working on about a year ago. Re: Career/new business idea: would love input! - 9 months ago
FWIW this is my business. I make a modest living from both off island on island. Enough to pay bills buy some craft beer and do a big trip once a year - no kids, wouldn't make it here on my income if I had kids but luckily for me I don't want any. I've been doing this since 2003 when I graduated from AI. I can say that IMO you will not be able to make a living on local business alone for web desiby AandA2VI - General/Relocating

Had a car stolen, had each car broken into once... they stole spark plugs once too LMAO! Other than that we've not had any run ins... and we sometime hang in Fsted till 2-3am. Would I walk down a dark ally alone here? No, nor would I anywhere else either. The rape comment is likely in reference to the incident that recently occurred. Re: Pilot testing facility in the VI? - 10 months ago
Yea it's pretty intense. You don't have to get a UAS liscense unless you're using it for commercial use... which I will be. At first I thought it was absurd but as I read more and look at the capabilities of my drone - which has a 4.3 mile range - I realize these are really not little plastic toys at all and serious (yet small) things that could cause major damage to actual aircrafts. Re: Pilot testing facility in the VI? - 10 months ago
BEESKI THANK YOU!!!! That's really exciting. A pilot friend mentioned Bolkhe might have one here too but any excuse to pop over to STT works for me! Now to apply to NPS for buck island permit lol! I heard it can take up to a year. Pfft. It'll be worth it. I'm wicked excited to get a different perspective on my photography. Had a dream many years ago about videoing dolphins from above. Pilot testing facility in the VI? - 10 months ago
I know we have some copter pilots here, I just bought a drone. Pretty stoked but I need to do a list of things to get everything that I need to be able to use it for commercial use - i.e. sell the pics. I am a ways from that of course but I cant find anything about any testing facilities here. Anyone have any info on this? I will fly to the mainland if I have to when I am ready. Re: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO - 10 months ago
We have BCBS PPo through OfficeMax. While it's of Illinois they do take it. Honestly I find it's easier just to pay cash for visits and when I need RX as we have. A high deductible and I rarely go to the dr. I know nothing about Medicare but there's another thread that was posted about it not being offered here either. You're not in Kansas anymore. Re: LGBT Community? Yes, No? - 10 months ago
Lots of gay peeps on island. In STT 90% of my friends were gay men. It's a pretty big crowd and FUN! Ha! Always found myself akin to gay men for some reason - I'm a pretty big personality and find they can handle it I have a pair of besties on STJ that we go visit and they visit us. Although a few of our STT crew moved to FL we still have a fun group in STT and it's always rowdy at our usual spoby AandA2VI - General/Relocating

Re: Small Claims for Plaintiff off island - 10 months ago
In our experience it would be very difficult to do it from off island. The courts have been really great so far as we go in and they go over our paperwork and tell us what else we need. It's A LOT. I'm not saying you can't but it would be difficult.by AandA2VI - General/Relocating
Re: Plastic Bag Ban - 10 months ago
Quotesinglefin I'm sorry, but really??? I can't believe all the whining here about grocery bags. Bring bags, plastic bags, paper bags, how to bag, who bags, WHO CARES! One good hurricane and every loose piece of debris on the island ends up in the sea. Watch the streets turn into rivers after a heavy rain and watch a log flow of crap head for the beach. Quotevicanuck Good reply, Beeski...very true. +1 Honestly I just came back from the states and while it's nice I guess to have al those choices it's gotten out of control. Re: Fishing in STX - 11 months ago
Sadly we are quite overfished unless you go way offshore. West is decimated. I'd also like to personally throat punch the person who shot the giant barracuda that hangs out under the pier. He's suffering, we've tried to get close to pull the spear out which is imbedded in him and didn't kill him. It's sticking out of him and even above the water line. Probably a 3ft spear. Re: Howdy from Texas - 11 months ago
Yea Stx for truck would be ok. For sure not stt. I too had a 8in lifted chev crew cab diesel. LOVED that damn truck, (also being a Texan) but omg driving that on STT I would have a heart attack. Not a problem in stx. Has the OP Brent to both islands? They're soooooooooooo different!!! I would start with a visit to both first.by AandA2VI - General/Relocating

Are u on STX? Sorry I forget. Have you tried VI go? They're by the fast food... yum Yums? Yam yams? In peters rest. Next to the laundry mat. $400 cheaper for a full set for my jeep than HH and they put them on in record time! They do a great job but it doesn't seem like many people know about the shop. Re: 1st Dive STX - 11 months ago
I would for sure do online classes but didn't you say you're just doing a DSD (discover dive)? Those are recommended for first timers as it's $100 and you get to see if you like it or not. Scuba isn't for everyone. If you know you like it and want to do the full open water cert - you do need to decide on an shop first - PADI you can use everyone except for Advetures in Diving as they are NAUI andby AandA2VI - General/Relocating
