Re: Truthers of Sandy Hook show their colors, and what about gun laws? - 5 years ago
I suggest COMPLETE OBJECTIVITY & viewing material with out bias. Such as this: if you still have no questions after watching that; well go back to watching TV I guessby LiquidFluoride - Under a Coconut Tree
Re: Solar panel installs - 5 years ago
I think slightly over panneling wouldn't be a bad thing, later on you can include a battery array (marine batteries work very well) for times when WAPA is down (and so is the sun). this way you are sure to keep your charge up during the day, at least this is my planby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

Re: Moving to STX in 3 weeks, help/advice/etc. appreciated! - 5 years ago
Sounds like they need to relax gun laws & allow citizens to arm themselves for protection. We have something like 8.5 guns per person in Alaska and do not suffer from these types of crimes. I myself am armed 80% of the time & would absolutely defend myself or any of you should a situation involving an armed assailant arise.by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
Re: Large Dog shipping / traveling - 5 years ago
QuotenoOne Right now there is no ferry from STT to STX. QuoteSt. Croix: Christiansted, St. Croix - Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas This ferry departs from the Marine Terminal in Gallows Bay on St. Croix and the Marine Terminal in Charlotte Amalie (next to Seaplane Terminal) on St. Thomas. Arrival should be at least 45 minutes prior to departure. Photo Id required. V.I. SeaTrans Rates: Adultsby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

Quotecayennita You will also have e to pay excise tax on the vehicle based on the blue book value or an invoice that will show what you paid for it. QuoteEXEMPTIONS. The importation or manufacture of the following categories of merchandise is exempt from the VI excise tax: certain educational materials including books; most food stuff; coal; fuel oil; molasses used in the production of rum, aby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

Solar panel installs - 5 years ago
Has anyone done one recently? I am planning on buying a house & would like to install enough solar to completely power it. ( 3/4 bed room house) & am trying to get a feel for how the process goes. I've read you can roll the purchase into your mortgage which is very attractive. Anything someone should know on this topic?by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

QuoteAlana33 "$235 – new/spare key for car" Huh? It is made of gold or have a teleport device? new vehicles have "chip embeded" keys, when purchased from the dealer they are aboud 100$+ each HOWEVER, if you do a bit of research you can find a blank online and get them for about $15 then have someone cut them for you & usualy program it too for under 30$by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
Re: Possible Move, VERY soon...need solid #'s please :) - 5 years ago
QuoteAlana33 You will have to pay customs and duty on a Toyota in addition to a Road Tax fee. You can call Customs to find out charges for that - 340-714-1600 for Sea Cargo Clearance You just have to pay the road tax as long as your vehicle is from the US, not customs or duty.by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
Re: Are there any Dudeist in the VI - 5 years ago
I'm definately in a branch of dudism, I share the attitude for sure. I just happen to have a strong desire to discover why things function the way they are (but don't let it stress me out 'n still go with the flow" maybe there's an off shoot of it that applies to me... great link! hahaby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

QuoteiguanabananaWe are quite happy homebodies; that has not changed. We still play our RPG’s in the evenings (he’s an orc, I’m undead) Great story, and a wow player! haha a couple after my own heart (though I kicked that habbit a while back, I may have to pick it up again as I hear night life is best restricted to "home" in VI). Can you expand a bit on your budget, you have someby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
Re: Large Dog shipping / traveling - 5 years ago
QuoteDixieChick no ferry? thought i saw it running the other day. when did it close? on some airlines the weight limit is 100 lbs. and the time period. 100lbs is the number I've seen (that's with the crate) & the private planes tend to run around 1,000 which is about as much as it costs to ship the animal "frieght" I've read a few of the past threads on this forum on thby LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating

QuoteAandA2VI So far the only thing I regret is not listening to board members here about bringing my CRV! Damn it! They were totally right, shoulda brought it with. Lesson learned lol. Why the CRV? (I'm guessing this is the honda CR-V?) because of the roads? can you expand a bit on that?by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
Large Dog shipping / traveling - 5 years ago
I'm looking into bringing my large dog (she's about 115lbs) and it's proving to be quite difficult to find a way to get her from the US (probably from Florida) to STX. I found a possible way to get her to St Thomas, is it possible to take the ferry to get her from STT to STX? anyone run into this issue before? I'm requesting a quote from from this thread:by LiquidFluoride - General/Relocating
