Re: MORE PLANTS FOR SALE, NORTHSIDE STT - 1 year ago
QuoteOldTart The Angel's Trumpet (brugmansia) is quite heavenly! My parent tree regularly blooms once a month and the huge blossoms only send out their perfume at night. When they're in bloom at the same time as the gardenias and the night blooming cereus, my deck wafts with intoxicating perfume worthy of a (very) high class establishment of the night ... lolby Dante - USVI Classifieds

Re: Finding the Dealers Who Dispose of Tires in the Bush - 1 year ago
Quotecaribstx $29 bucks is a small price to pay to find out which dealer is duping tires. Imagine the effect it could have on other dealers who might be tempted to illegally dump tires if they knew there was a good chance technology might lead to a conviction. The issue is more about holding them accountable if / when we could prove they did. We don't have the best track record holding peoby Dante - General/Relocating

Hi Jo! I am so happy to see that you are making the "big move". I know you have been planning it for some time now. It will be great to see you around the island As mentioned by others on the board, Pam lucas has a great reputation . Also Juanita ,who posts here ,has a nice centrally located place with several apartments in your price range. To any potential landlords...by Dante - General/Relocating
Re: Veterans Admin?? - 2 years ago
On which island are you planning to do your PMV ? On St. Croix the VA clinic is pretty much centrally located ...and the island is 28 miles long ( 7 at the widest point) , so OT's point is anywhere on island puts you less than 20 miles away .by Dante - General/Relocating
Re: Finding Tenants? Is rental property a bad ROI? - 2 years ago
QuoteOldTart This is one of the unique problems I alluded to earlier. The very high attrition rate of newbies can leave you with a duly executed annual lease with the usual penalties for breaking it early but no hope of enforcing it if the tenant simply takes off and leaves island. One of the reasons it's really important (and this is the same AnyTown USA) to get first and last month's rent aby Dante - General/Relocating
Re: Finding Tenants? Is rental property a bad ROI? - 2 years ago
I have a rental on St. Croix . Demand always seems high. I have had good luck with tenants , even remained friends with previous tenants over the years . It is very common here to have a rental attached to a single family home . As mentioned by other posters a good application / screening process and a detailed lease is a must ! I also have had / have rental property stateside the twoby Dante - General/Relocating

Well, now you have. I drank bottled water over ice cubes that I didn't realize were made with cistern water (found out later) at a friend's place. Started feeling queasy soon after, then threw up for about a day. That was the only thing it could have been. I've been a lot more careful since. YMMV; my digestion is on the sensitive side.
