I don't work there so nothing is fact, I do believe it is so. Certainly spreading a rumor of a fellow islander's misery isn't the intention. I only said it in case one of you are an outside contractor or vender to them. So you can ask questions. This is a tough time to be left holding the bag. There is a great need for a generator mechanic on STT. One that is educated, not a liar, not insane and not a criminal. Its a great field that is yours for the taking. If you fit that mold you could make a good income inside of two years. Not in five weeks, so come prepared with your tools, ambition and parts sources.by Gumbo - General/Relocating

There are many wood frame homes scattered throughout these islands. Many have survived Hugo and Marilyn. Lots of homes were damaged or destroyed whether they were concrete, wood, or mixed construction. If a home is designed and built to wind load it will survive at least that amount of wind.
