Re: Bicycle lanes - 1 year ago
Everywhere on St. Thomas is not full of hills, people. Red Hook all the way to Nadir is mostly flat (ok by the traffic light is a little high, but not that high) and from there you can go up Brookman Road toward the Tutu Park Mall. I am sure we can find another doable route in addition to this, too. Besides, I see people biking up Raphune Hill and other really high hills, too.by homeschoollady - General/Relocating

The public library has a STORYTIME during the summer and probably during the school year. It seems like a popular activity for the little ones and their parents...by homeschoollady - Community

Hmmm Prepare to grow your own food! I believe that is a great idea! Maybe a few chickens or a few goats may not be a bad idea either. It is healthier living anyway. That is the movement now...organic! I know a few people who basically get almost everything from their yards and sell some of their produce. Even my 87 year old father grows spinach, eggplant, bananas, island cucumbers (they look difby homeschoollady - General/Relocating

Here is the new draft of the VIBOE home education policy. Contact me St. Thomas residents especially...if you are homeschooling. You do need to fill out your request form and start thinking of putting together a portfolio. There is a high possibility that the policy will be enforced this school year. That is my target date. ...and by the way, our local board of education will have discussions about our new home education policy this month since they just printed the draft on their website. Homeschooling Policy Update Hello Parents I called the Board of Education last week and ask them for an update on the new homeschooling policy. I was informed that there was a public meeting where the public got to voice their opinion on the new homeschooling document. Now, the board is working on revising the document. That is the word.
