Tiny house STX. Can you? - 12 months ago
Anyone know if a tiny house on a 8ft x 24ft trailer could be set on a property without an HOA? They're relatively new and a lot of regulations haven't caught up yet. They're not traditional homes w foundations or RVs Thanksby reydavila - General/Relocating

Re: Keep St Croix relevant - 1 year ago
Not sure why this is turning into a debate. Just a simple opportunity to promote the island if you wanted to. If you don't want to vote then don't. Btw why would anyone want to rely on a refineary that harms the environment and is one accident away from irreparably ruining the island forever? Cruise ships and megaresorts are not the only form of tourism. St Croix should leverage what makes it greby reydavila - General/Relocating

Re: Cistern inspector - 1 year ago
QuoteExit Zero I would suggest you empty seal and recoat the cistern before you move in. It is the only way you can be sure of the condition. What Island?? I keep doing that, STX. I figured it could be drained and a specialist inspect it. Thanks for tip above.by reydavila - General/Relocating
Re: Cistern inspector - 1 year ago
QuoteAlana33 Open the cistern cover, look in the cistern. If there's a ton of debris, gunky looking water, you'll need to have it cleaned and resealed. Check the condition of roof and downspouts. Are they full of leaves, mold, mildew and debris on rooftop and gutters? They'll need to be cleaned, pressure washed and roof recoated. Disconnect downspout from cistern when doing this. Re: St Croix Vendors - 1 year ago
I was referred to this gentleman. I of course have not used him but this was PMd to me. If you'd like his number PM me. Plumber - we use Mike Sissem. He's not on the list, but he's been our go-to guy for plumbing issues (and we've had quite a few). Answers calls, turns up when he says he will (even when the issue is urgent), seems to be very knowledgeable.by reydavila - General/Relocating

Re: Home Warranties - 1 year ago
I'm in Las Vegas. Its affordable imo, you call to open a ticket, pay a deductible and they repair or replace. Used it once for garbage disposal and another for washer. Both were repaired within a week.by reydavila - General/Relocating
Home Warranties - 1 year ago
Good afternoon, Waiting to close on my St Croix dream home and was curious if anyone knows of any home warranty companies with coverage in USVI? I love my AHS.com plan but they don't cover in St Croix. I do plan on renting while I'm not there which could affect things. Let me know and thanks in advance!by reydavila - General/Relocating
