Maroon Ridge Hike and Butler Bay Spirit Tree with guide Ras Lumumba. Maroon Ridge is located high on the scenic ridge northeast of Ham’s Bluff with breathtaking views of the north coast of St. Croix and the Caribbean Sea. Meet in the parking lot at Rainbow Beach to car pool to the hike location. On our return trip we will visit the Baobab ‘Spirit Tree’ at Butler Bay. This is a strenuous hike so we recommend sturdy shoes, hats, plenty of water to drink and a snack if you wish. Free for children and SEA members, $10 for all others. Registration is required for this activity and limited to 30 people. Please call 773-1989.

Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge. Join SEA for a Reptile Ramble on Sandy Point NWR! From ponds and leaf litter debris to trees and rocks, discover the various types of reptiles and amphibians that inhabit our island! Emily Weston, a marine biologist and SEA educator, will be the guide. The ramble is appropriate for children and adults, ages 5 and over. Bring sunscreen, comfortable shoes that you will not mind getting a little muddy and water. Meet at the entrance gate promptly at 9:00AM. This activity is free. Please register by calling 773-1989.

Town and Country Photography Workshop with Emily Weston. Meet at Coconuts in Frederiksted for an easy walk-and-talk photography workshop including natural and man-made landscapes. Bring your camera and water to drink, comfortable walking shoes and hats are recommended. Cameras of all kinds are welcome, from point and shoot to DSLR. This activity is appropriate for children 10 years and older who are familiar with the basic functions of their cameras. Free for children and SEA members, $10 for all others. FREE Snorkel clinic at Fort Frederik. Learn to snorkel or advance your skills – school-aged children to adults are welcome. SEA will provide snorkel instruction, gear, environmental education, and light refreshments. Registration is not required but appreciated, 773-1989. SEA snorkel clinics are sponsored by Reef Jam.
