Don't see an issue with this post. The profanity is not here. She's apparently married and I got the impression she's been resident on island for a few years now.

why so much negativity

Her statement about politics reflects a prevalent Statesider mentality. Throughout the Caribbean politics is a huge issue and I was warned about it by a history professor before I moved here. No mattter where you live you need to be aware of the issues and vote.

Imo, many of the Caribbean living blogs are written with the intent of garnering attention. They seldom reflect my reality.

Everyone's reality is so different here.

I work in an office 9-5 five days a week.
Others work on dive boats.
Others own stores.
Others work on farms.
Others bartend and waitress.

So many different realities.

I enjoy reading about other people's realities.

Similar to the Women

If I were to create a blog it would include my conversation yesterday with Judith. Of E's Teagarden in town on St Thomas.

Last week it was a review of the new St Thomas restaurant Salt and Vinegar in Nisky.

When I visit the "states" I see many of the same issues we complain about here.

No matter where we live there are differences depending on where we lived Stateside. If it's a grocery item, I ask a store if they can get it.

I just saw first four parts yesterday, didn't see that she had posted more. The language bothers me because I don't think it's necessary. Also, it seems to be a sign of a generation who feel "it is all about me." Does her mother like how she writes? Do children run across her blog?

The pictures are definitely all about me...

The multiple f..bombs are really unnecessary and detract, IMO, from the writing which isn't all that hot, either.
It is interesting to see what newbies freak out about, like or dislike, however, after all my decades of living in VI.

So much truth in what she says. F-bombs or not. Many people speak like that, and her writing reflects how she would tell it to you.

Overall a good read for someone thinking about moving to the VI, or someone living here that can relate and get a few laughs.
