My husband and I are planning a move to st.croix. We've read through messages and searched for information. We have found many good tidbits, but would like to know if there are any nude beaches, resorts, clubs or other adult activities or groups that couples with open minds would enjoy...?

hi from southwest florida.on my visit to st. croix i found many remote beaches but you need a 4-wheel drive. the only people i knew when i went there were nudest. their friends were very open minded. here in florida we keep it to one beach where it is accepted but against the law and in private homes.

Dear Happy Couple

I think Linda has said it well. St Croix is a very closed place. I'm sure that there are people here who go to nude beaches and even test deeper waters, but usually they go to Jamaica, St Martin or Mexico for their open minded fun.I think Iowa has more swingers than St Croix.

You will be very disappointed in St Croix if you come expecting a swinging beach party. It is a lovely place to live, but you will even find more openness on St Thomas. (but not much) The lifestyle resorts do not come to the USVI

Thanks for the many responses. We realize that the island is more ben-gay then anything else. Still, there is an active glbt population, however underground or low profile it may be. This begs the question, Are there any "adult" activities for open minded couples at all? We also know of other islands' "activities", but still wonder if there is anything for us on st. croix in this realm...? It's by no means a deal breaker as we can travel freely to other, more open islands, but it would be nice to meet some people there that would be close to home...

trying to find ANY nightlife here can be a challenge, much less a specific type of entertainment. I can't even find a rock band, much less a good one. Moving to the islands requires flexibility in needs and wants... good luck with your search

We really weren't being glib, well, maybe just a little. The island has a very small town atmosphere. That being said, your best bet is to get here and get a feel for the place. You will certainly run into folks with similar interests - but it will take time.

In the meantime, there's always trivia and scrabble.

Linda J,
A glbt population is Gay & Lesbian not to be confused with glib.ROFL

Gay,Lesbian,Bisexual, Transgender=glbt population!

happycouple,
BenGay is one word. And this is about as much fun your going to get on ST Croix. LOL

One doesn't have to be old/Bengay to choose not to swing. It also doesn't mean one is close-minded. There are groups that do that on STT. I'd be surprised if there weren't any on STX. However, the beaches are not nude & if a police officer is in the mood you will get a ticket.

Heck, I just came from Michigan where a couple moved into the neighborhood, very open about their swinging status. It just happens in their private home.

I'm sure there are people here that do that.

I would not equate being gay/lesbian with the question asked by the original poster. Nor is being a nudist what was discussed. Not at all the same thing.

Linda J,
I think you should read the original poster's second post you answered.

PS. They did ask about nude beaches, clubs, resorts etc on their original post.

happycouple,
To answer your question with no speculation, I don't know of any of the activities you requested on the Island of St. Croix USVI.

I don't think most people who are not swingers would know if there are swingers on the island. Hence, asking this forum would likely only result in PMs for positive answers and everyne else saying it is likely to not exist on the island.

The OP would be better served by asking this qustion on a swingers forum.

bluewater,
I agree that the question should be asked on a swingers forum, However I don't participate in selling drugs, but I do know for a fact that it exists on ST.Croix. So happycouple gave it a shot! So far the end result is they swing on STT, Florida, and Michigan. Maybe someone will come out from the belly of the beast and out the swing parties on St Croix.

Do you think that Henny Youngman's famous one liner "Take My Wife, Please" started all this?

Haha Lizard. If someone "outs" the swing parties on STX on this forum, warn me so that I an gear up in my fireproof jumpsuit before I open this thread again.

Have you seen what happens when someone asks about a topless beach? Yikes!! Take cover! 🙂

I am not familiar with Henny Youngman.

bluewater,
Henny Youngman (comedian) Known as the King of one liners. He was a comedian that didn't need profanity to get a laugh. Google his name and read some of his one liners very funny guy.

Dear Friends
I always look forward to sharing my thoughts. It appears that we need to educate ourselves on some of the tribal practices in our society. My many years of intrepid exploring allow me to make a few observations.

First of all GLTB people are not necessarily a subculture. One of my daughters is a professed lesbian. She is a college professor in a decade old relationship and her lifestyle as well as her friends has nothing in common with "adult/fun, or open mindedness. She is even more boring then me.

next

Social nudity is big business. The AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) is a mainstream advocacy organization that promotes vacations and nude living. Most of their members are older professional, non swinging type middle Americans. Yes, I once proudly carried a membership card.

next

Scrabble can be lots of fun.

Ms information,
You should of addressed happycouple with your observation, no poster referenced the gltb as a subculture.Happycouple said ("still, there is an active glbt population, however underground or low profile it may be"). What is your meaning of a "subculture"

Why don't you start a new thread,as to why you gave up your membership in the AANR. That might be interesting.Or tribal practices in our society!

Scrabble is alot of fun as long as the players can spell real words.LOL

considering the high rate of HIV on the island, one should be VERY careful about their casual sexual encounters... which, by definition, isn't really possible if it's casual. I've heard of some swingers on STX in the past, but the stories are from years ago before I arrived so who knows how much is true and how much is imagination. There are a lot of social activities available and you never know what you might find if you broach the subject. Approaching the wrong person might result in them broadcasting your request... which might result in you being ostracised or maybe being approached by someone also looking for what you seek. You just never know. The island culture, in general, is very conservative and religious on "adult fun" topics. The French side of St. Martin is where you would easily find all that you seek. Margarita Island also has nude resorts and beaches. You probably already know about the Hedonism resorts on Jamaica.
