The reporters took up the suggestion that they check to confirm that states provide housing for their Lieutenant Governors - oops, not so. So, $12,500 a month for the Governor to reside in a luxury villa (details of which have yet to be disclosed) and now the LtGov is going to share the (non-existent) largesse. The echoing of the deja vu is stifling in its intensity. Next come the cavalcades ...

fish don't burn in the kitchen.

beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin',
just to get up that hill.

now we're up in the big leagues.
gonna get my turn at bat.
as long as we live, it's you and me baby.
ain't nothin' wrong with that.

Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie!!!!!!

He doesn't want just a piece of the pie, he wants the whole pie and the bakery that made it, too! Forget that he declared our debt situation "dire!"

King Schneider’s rule was such a pox
Of cavalcades and cycled cops
Protecting the extreme largesse
On shopping trips to CostULess.

Mapp tagged along and loved the ride,
And simply took it all in stride
While planning for his princely rise
To take the throne and hone the lies.

It only took a few short years -
By then the populace’s fears
Had slid away and memories faded,
They were so easily persuaded.

The Prince is gone, Long Live The King
And welcome in the term of Bling!
No worries, Ken, you’ll leave your mark
- And we’ll be all left in the dark.

Registered voters should protest via letters to senators or online petitions. The law is on the side of tax paying, registered voters in this case since Organic Act does not mention Lt Gov.

The housing issue for governor needs to be settled ASAP.

The pot calling the kettle black!

If he's got to pay back full amount, Mapp should be paying for his digs, out of pocket, if he chooses not to live at Catherineberg.

Schneider did the same thing with building a guard house and adding security to his home on Solberg when he was Gov. Is he going to pay money back after all these years?

One has to wonder when senators will address these issues once and for all and put an end to all the posturing, power playing and all the other crap that wastes taxpayers time and money.

Schneider's private residence which was fitted out with a guard shack (and 24/7 guard) and security systems was at Bakkeroe up from Havensight but I can't find anything - nor can remember - who paid for all that work, whether it was funded by the government or if he paid for it himself. But of course all this should be addressed at the base level instead of this nonsense being rehashed every several years. Of course we want our leaders to be safe and secure - that's a moot point - but it has to be within sensible parameters.

There is no way in this universe that the people should be paying $12,500/month for Mapp to live in a grand villa, just as the people shouldn't have paid for his mentor's grandiose stream of cars with VIPD motorcyclists "guarding" fore and aft on every mediocre trip he made across town.

But as long as the people don't demand change the same thing is going to continue.

Was it Turnbull that had the house on the hill coming down Solberg?
I know there was a gate, a guard and guard house there.
I think you're right about Schneider being in Bakkeroe.

Turnbull lived at Catherinberg but maybe before he moved in there his residence was in Solberg. Schneider's house was definitely in Bakkeroe as I lived right across the street from the home for a couple of years.

I heard that he had modifications made, like a guardhouse. True? Is one still there?

There was a house on his (Turnbull's) lane for sale many years ago and there was a gated entrance, a guard house and a guard there each time I went to show the home next door. This was the house in Solberg. I don't know if it's still in place or not. I think Schneider's still is up in Bakkaroe.

Schneider lived at his house until Catherineberg was ready for moving in. He stayed there after repair work was done. Turnbull was housed up in Estate Elizabeth in a house that I think was $7000 a month until repair work was finished at Catherineberg. His own home is on Solberg. WICO payed the rent in Est. Elizabeth.

There was a Lt Governor's home in Dorothea. I believe the last person to live in it was Derek Hodge. There is also one in St John in Hansen Bay. That was destroyed by Hugo and never rebuilt. Both the Governor and Lt. Governor had homes on all three islands.
