Wow, where did all the people come from? I have never seen it that crowded before. Parking was crazy.
The parade was wonderful and the fireworks were pretty good.
Does anyone know who won? Love the big boat with prodigy block on it and the other big boat that had the lighted pelican.

yeah mon, it was wedged but a good crowd and yes parking was outrageous. The seaplane flyover was tres cool and the boats, although fewer than last year were decorated to the hilt and the captains really did show off some expert seamanship, we are so lucky to live here and have this event. One boat had a depiction of the flying spaghetti monster that was lost on most people. next come the mini village in market square, right?

As a new VI resident, I cannot tell you how proud, inspired, elated, etc, I was to see last night's festivities. We didn't make it to town because we heard on the radio how crowded it was on our way. So, we stopped at the Bucc. The fireworks were spectacular! The boats were far away, though, so we left the Bucc after the fireworks and went to Green Cay to watch the boats return and applaud and thank them. Thank you so much to the fine people who organize and participate in this wonderful event. You all are doing great things for St Croix.

Dixie, I saw the Flying Spaghetti monster and the burning man symbol, but that was just my perception, maybe not?

I thought it was a "no lion fish" design. Or maybe it was "no mops" or "no eight-fingered hands."

I think the spaghetti thingy was supposed to be a lion fish. It also had an X going thru it.

We all decided that it was inspired from the "yes we have no Bananas" song and all started singing the song when it went by.

Dave + Nicole Johnson's boat Living the Dream won a bunch of the prizes including "overall" I think. That's the one with the Santa Faces in lights at the top of the tower

They announced the winners on the radio yesterday but I haven't seen it listed anywhere.
One of our friends posted pics of the awards on Facebook.

I love the boat parade. Call me crazy, but I think it's my fave holiday event on STX, yes, even more so than the Three Kings Adult Parade.
