Boat storage for 14' boat

Preparing to move to STT this summer. Have been sailing a laser (14' board boat) and am wondering about boat storage. Will keep on trailer but really don't want to spend $250/mo. Are there cheaper places to store a small boat on a trailer like this?

In which area are you going to be living?

Depending on where you will be staying, I'll bet there would be multiple places that would allow your boat on their property for a nominal fee and way less than $250.00, but there maybe little to no security, no warranty or liability insurance as well as no locked gate or fence. Now if you have valuables or worry about the boat getting stolen or damaged, then the storage fee at a facility would be a cheap investment. I wouldn't leave anything too valuable outside for very long.

Sorry, looking at STT. Being a board boat, nothing valuable except the mast, boom and sales.

You can check the STT Yacht Club, there are boat storage racks on the East End, near Red Hook, one adjacent to the Independent Boat Yard and Hull Bay on north side has boat storage next to Hull Bay Hideaway for trailered boats. Any of those places will have people to give you other options. Good luck.

I think they put up a few boats at the old Larry's Hideaway Bar at Hull Bay, but can't say for sure maybe OT or one of the others can answer this.

Yes, Mike.
They still have boats on trailers by the hideaway.
See my post above yours.

There's a slew of marinas and boat dry storage places on the East End, big and small, nice or funky. Hull Bay Beach where Hull Bay Hideaway is located has a boat trailer storage area and has a boat ramp.

If you going to be exploring St. John and BVI it's probably best to keep boat on east end as it's a long beat to weather from Hull Bay or Crown Bay, for that matter, on a small boat.

You can sail to other small uninhabited islands from both those locations tho so just depends what floats your boat.

If you can find a rental with a big enough driveway and landlord allows, you may try that. Your boat will have to be registered as will the trailer, I'd imagine.
DPNR website: http://dpnr.vi.gov/contact/
That's who you have to contact for boat registration.
