Business in USVI

We have a 26 year old home based business in the US exporting marine electronics, and are considering the idea of moving to STX. Our business is 100% internet based, but we use a freight forwarder in Miami to transit our goods out. We would like to continue the business from STX as we have traditional clients in South America that we could continue to provide services to. Additionally, we would be running the business out of our house on STX and the total number of employees consist of my wife and me.

i realize that it would get complicated as we would have to maintain our stateside commercial bank account open, but that is accessible via internet, so no big deal. But we would be paying ourselves salaries from the US business.

We would not be transiting any merchandise through STX, so we would not be subject to the commercial tax issues.

So we need to find an accountant in STX that could help us out to determine everything that we would have to do, transiting the operational side to STX. To begin with, I suppose that once we declare STX as our permanent residence, we would have to deal with the USVI tax authorities.

Can anyone recommend an accounting firm that may be able to provide some initial advice?

Ditto, Dave above. I was just in his office yesterday! Every professionally run office. Sometimes rare in these islands!
