Can you recommend an online tire source?

I'm looking for better tires and selection than I can get locally, and I know many people are bringing in tires from various sources online. Have you done it? How was the experience? From whom did you order, and who mounted and balanced your tires for you on island? Thanks!

I think TireRack ships to VI using USPS second day.

Just replacing tires with the same exact size shouldn't be an issue. Purchasing new rims and tires of a different size can be involved. Every vehicle has unique tolerances. Is it a 4×4 with any kind of suspension modification?
You can order anything online. Getting the right parts is essential. Shipping heavy items to the USVI can be expensive. Returning the wrong items can be just as expensive.

Can't you have the place that sells tires order what you want and install?
What island are you on?

I think so too. They're one of the places I'm looking.

Very true. I've been importing stuff here for years and learned a few lessons. I'm actually looking at replacing the stock tires in kind. Nothing out of spec.

I wish. I've been buying tires from the local favorite tire store on stx for 2 decades. They used to carry a long-lasting tire in my size, but no more. They sell what they stock, that's it, and increasingly in recent years, they stock junk.

Sounds like Tire Express. I called them the other day to get one Hankook DynaPro ATM to replace one that unfortunately got damaged beyond repair.

The guy finally called me back the next day with some story about having difficulty getting them. I had to go to HH Tire and take what they had.

Are u on STX? Sorry I forget. Have you tried VI go? They're by the fast food... yum Yums? Yam yams? In peters rest. Next to the laundry mat. $400 cheaper for a full set for my jeep than HH and they put them on in record time! They do a great job but it doesn't seem like many people know about the shop. I've also heard tire rack ships here.

Everything is so expensive!

It may be more economical to have tires shipped to Paradise Freight or VI Cargo in FL. Tire Rack shipping to them is about $20/tire for tires I checked. Actual will depend on those closest warehouse that has the tires you want.

My mechanic suggested tire rack for longer lasting tires than the junk we get on island and ship through Paradise.

With those above figures, I'd still save money and perhaps have a tire that last more than 10k miles. Last two I bought here at H-H was almost what you priced for 4 and that's probably a much longer lasting, tire than is sold here on STX.
