Moving down in a month and shipping a new Jeep Grand Cherokee from the states. Got a quote from Guardian, higher than expected and has a $1500 deductible. Contacted a couple others for quotes but heard that some write though Guardian with upcharge and others have big issues when it comes to actually filling a claim.

Anyone have thoughts or recent experience with insurance on island and deductible.

Marshall Sterling on STX and its counterpart, Theodore Tunick on STT have an excellent reputation. No idea what their deductible would be on a new vehicle.

Family insurance handles our full coverage. $500 deductible and was about $1250/yr

If you have no loan or bank lien on the car you can carry the compulsory basic insurance for about $240 yr. - If you do have a loan or lien make sure that lender will let you ship the car here.

the shipper will want a letter stating this.

& if you can get USAA, do it!

USAA insures here

They do - only if you're eligible:
