OK...I am compelled to give some reasons why this petition is important. These reasons, for the most part, are due to my personal experiences with the Board of Elections, not hearsay.

1. As a candidate in the 2012 elections, I requested, in writing, to view the tally sheets. I still have not been able to view them.

2. As a voter, I asked that Chucky not be permitted to run, as in other cases, a person who evades taxes has committed a crime of moral turpitude. She was permitted.

3. As a voter, I asked that Moral Turpitude be defined by Abramson, the supervisor of elections. He has not.

4. As a voter, I viewed & compared the required Campaign Disclosure reports for the 2010 election cycle. I found that Hansen has not yet filed her report although I have asked repeatedly, in writing. Russell was late in filing his report, and was issued a fine, which he paid. Hansen has not yet been issued a fine, which now would be close to $5,000.

5. As a voter, when I became aware that the AG stated he was going to investigate the 2012 elections, I submitted a letter to one of his agents involved in the investigation oiutlining all the infractions. I have not heard a word.

6. As the VP of the VI Action Group, I forced the BOE to come to a reasonable recall threshold by filing a recall petition to recall Chucky. This was done so that the former threshold of 42,000 signatures was deemed ridiculous as there are only 25,000 registered voters on STX.

For these reasons, and other issues experienced by citizens fighting for a fair & transparent election system, I ask that you support us by signing the petition.

THANK YOU!

I agree, there has to be something up with Chucky getting re-elected. I refuse to believe that islanders are that dumb.

Thank you Bombi, A&A, Skysthelimit for your stated support.

Yes, some choose to get used to it...some don't. This is a cause worth fighting for.

Our soldiers go overseas to support democracy & fair elections, we could fight our battle right here by asking everyone we know to be a part of this fight.

Please sign the petition, and ask a friend to do the same.

Big thanks again!

Get used to it?? Really? I may be new and all but I dont appreciate nor support liars and cheaters. Im am sorry that you've been numbed down to it. Perhaps thats the problem... easier to just do it the way its always been instead of changing it to make it better. Too lazy for my tastes, but thanks.

Sorry if it offends you, but my first thought when I read your Chucky comment was "here's another newcomer..can't believe" thing. Not to take away from the largely observant and good adjustment you seem to be making to living in the VI...
The part I think you need to get used to is the fact that Chucky, (and Adelbert and a few others), have more support among STX voters than most, and her victory in the last election was not likely due to election fraud or manuvering or such, not to say that that might be a real and separate fact, and something that hopefully can be exposed and rectified going forward...
Chucky has been elected to numerous legislative terms, going back to the 80's..perhaps won eight or ten or more times, and unfortunately for what it says about the VI voters, mostly she got the most or near the top of the number of votes in each election...so yes, the VI voters as a group can be and in many folks opinions are "that stupid". It's something that all of us who don't support her or the things she represents have to be aware of, and something that the folks we do support in government and outside of government have to work around in order to get good things accomplished. Not easy and likely one of the reasons change takes place so slowly.

As a service member this really chaps my hide. We serve the nation expecting that the reasons we serve will be upheld by the Govt.

Petition signed, and will post this link to FB so it can hopefully reach the 5K signatures.

I tried that, too, and eventually the page loaded, but it was very slow to load. I'll try again when I'm at another computer.

I'd happily sign if Adelbert Bryan was NOT on the Elections committee board.
That is, if you actually want reform.
Opps, meant Adelbert and his cronies.........................(td)

If you want reform start changing yourselves and be involved which means you ALL have to vote,
Be here now as Baba Ramdas stated and make those changes, Frankly, I don't see this particular petition doing that.
Excuse me if I am wrong.

Alana33, the BOE meetings are now being video-taped, for both districts. This service is not provided by the government. The videos can be viewed by going to VIActionGroup.org . You may gain a different summation of board members.

Chucky is easily approachable by any islander, talks freely and says what she thinks. People like that. I think calling people dumb for liking that in a candidate is pretty harsh.

Thanks for that, poodle. Will check it out.
I am totally leery and suspicious of anything Adelbert has his hand in due to his past history which has proven to be vituperative, divisive, and racist. Everything he gets involved in has been doomed to failure because of this.

(tu) Absolutely. Some simple research is all it takes to find that very long and consistent history spanning decades ...

Jamison: In my opinion, your knowledge of Chucky, her constant shenanigans and her lying and much more is very limited. Your comment is identical to that which would come from one of her typically ill-educated and poorly-read constituents who rely on oral volume and street chatter to make their voting choices.
