Yay! The wicked witch is dead! Yay!
The early and absentee ballots are supposed to be covered up with stickers on Chucky's name.

So then I'm denied my right to vote for 7 people, since one of my choices is invalid

(says a Chucky supporter) which is NOT me. I'm making a legal point.

You're going to have to toss out all of the STX early voting ballots and let let me vote again.

If you wrote that woman's name in, that one of seven votes does not deserve to be counted. It was gotten illegally. You should have read the news. By counting her vote you have disenfranchised the other candidates. In fact, her even sitting in the senate right now disenfranchises Neville James right now.

Actually, it doesn't say that at all. When it comes down to it, early voters who voted for this piece of work, will have their votes counted as write-in votes and one can still write the witch in. I got to page 53 of the 63 page judgement and skipped to the end.

I'd like to know how much taxpayer money has been spent (wasted) on this never-ending nightmare. Good luck stx, you're gonna need it!

The cast of characters who colluded to keep "chucky" on the ballot is impressive and include Fawkes, our vi attorney general and the district court. I must include gov. Dejongh since he created this disgusting mess and opened this rancid can of worms with his pardon of that criminal.

I am no longer thrilled with the decision that she was not eligible.

You forgot to include in the list of the people that colluded to keep her on the ballot, your governor deJongh who pardoned her willful crimes and makes her votes not eligible to be counted.

See above missjustice.

She can still get elected. The decision, to my understanding, after wading thru 53 pages of stuporous legal jargon, before skipping to the end on page 63 only determines that she was not eligible to be on the ballot at the time she filed, the district court had no jurisdiction to issue the order to place her name back on the ballot after it had been ordered off by the supreme court, Fawkes had no authority to place her back on the ballot, etc. Not that she is ineligible to be voted for as a write in candidate, be elected or to hold office if she is elected since Dejongh pardoned her. I am so disgusted! I could spit.
(Sorry!) That's my understanding of this whole fiasco.

I agree with many; let's hope this is the end of it. But I highly doubt that. If I read the conclusion correctly, she's got one more card to play (United States Supreme Court). If I understand this correctly, they could rule that District Court has jurisdiction and overturn the V.I. Supreme Court's findings.

Thank deJongh and two corrupt judges, Brady and Lewis.
Brady is a political hack appointee of deJongh with very little judicial or legal talent

One can only hope. The next 'fish fry' will include 'Chucky' as the main entree...

i am no fan of chucky and dont know basil, who they are now saying cant run either, but dont you think it is a bit late in the game for this. how much back and forth do the voters need. enough is enough.

let them both be on the ballot and let the uninformed vote like they always do.
i mean, arent all the politicians down here corrupt or guilty of something

Just as usual as throughout the world and has ever been, however much the search always continues (and the hope remains that he's out there) for that mythical, "Honest Abe"..

I'm sure some way she will weasel her way in. I honestly hope not but she probably will.
Is there anyone in the VI government thinking "how embarrassing, we look like a bunch of fools"

I don't doubt than she would win a write in campaign, so I can't be happy with this news.

Didn't I read awhile back on this forum that she wasn't allowed to have write-ins due to her crimes?

I think that if Dejongh had not pardoned her, that would have been true. Not the case, since the pardon. Teflon chucky, indeed.

Since the court deemed her candidacy ineligible, I don't think any write in votes for her will be valid. It is my understanding that early votes for her will not be counted.

She is eligible to be sworn into office, and the populace cannot be denied the right to write her in. And at the time of the election, she has nothing legally against her to keep her from being elected through a write in campaign.

If anybody can be a write in, then why vet candidates? Just let anybody run. Am I missing something?

The Wiki article I linked is self-explanatory.
