definitely not a biker bar and never see yuppies there, that's for sure. Just cheap drinks and a bit of wackiness with the owner, but he's a good guy. We love stopping there for 1 or 2 to start our tour of downtown.

but he's a good guy.

If he's super drunk stay away..

especially if you have a sword cane or a golf club...

Yeah, I can agree with that. He loves my wife, so he's always nice to us.

Do they actually rent the scooters, or are they just parked there as a prop?

I've been trying to call for two weeks and no one ever answers the phone.

I have guests coming who wanted to rent scooters but I don't know what to tell them other than the owner is usually a mess.

The Christiansted Boardwalk has never been better. You and your friends can enjoy cold drinks and great food at (starting at Seaplane end of Boardwalk)
- Angry Nates; great food, tables on the boardwalk (Shrimp Pistolette....mmm)
- Rumrunners; great food, over the water (Cobb Salad with Asian Sesame dressing)
- Shoups; great burgers & cold beer
- The Mill; great Pizza & cold beer
- Brew STX; great food, home made beer

I'm not sure, I have never seen anyone rent one. I did see him sell parts to a guy. His hours are a mess, he is sometimes open early, then other times his people come in later during the day. I would just go down there later in the day and see. He's definitely fighting some demons since the refinery closed I'm guessing, but we always enjoy saying hi and talking to him for a few minutes before we walk around.

Fighting some demons sounds about right. Hopefully he wins.

I do to because I feel he's a really good guy with a good heart, just life got turned upside down on him. I could be wrong, I've only known him for the last year and a half, but one of my best friends for 30 years now is an alcoholic and it's painful to watch the path he is on. But that's a whole other thread.

I like Shoops, Brew pub, and just up the street is a gem called Best... it's... "the best" haha amazing cocktails.

Not gonna pull punches here, he attacked me at his bar because I gave him a credit card and he wanted cash.. He took my cane away from me (I had shattered my knee and could barely move) and was belligerent.

It ended up with him having to go to the hospital and have surgery, I feel bad for the guy but godamn he's out of control when intoxicated.. BE WARE.

The golf club was another story where he took a mans golf club and attacked him with it.

Funny thing is he doesn't even remember me, we are still very friendly (I don't hold a grudge, but this guy is not stable) I see him all the time when I'm at Shoops.

He'a a great guy when sober and actually pretty funny. But I won't go to his bar because he when he is drunk and belligerent he's dangerous. I am worried he will pop off to the wrong person and get shot. I don't want to be in his bar.

I absolutely agree. This is my third time in STX and every time I regret I
ended up on STT. Waterfront Csted is lovely. Great dining with no crawds. Makes it for perfect sailing destination from BVI, STT or StJ. Easy 4 hours sail even for one night.

A few years we stopped in at the end of the night. He was nice at first taking shots with us. Then he suddenly decided we stole his keys and tried to lock us in the bar until we gave them back. Quite an interesting evening.
