Driver's license number?

I believe it is the second, DD.

Yes, the DD number is the license #.
On my wife's old-style license, it's actually labeled "License # C-__________ "
On my new-style license, it's ambiguous as to which is the license # (CI: or DD: ), but the DD number starts with C-, so that's the clue that I follow.

Maybe they use C- for St. Croix license #s, and T- or J- for STT and STJ, like with the license plates. Can anyone confirm?

By the power vested in me & a higher authority-a couple of my police friends, I was correct, it is in fact the DD number. Case solved 🙂

My Driver's License # starts with a C, so it doesn't look like goes by island, like license plates #'s do.

Update: After doing a search to figure out CI or DD for license number and reading this thread a few days ago... I wanted to update it. The folks at DMV said its the CI number that is the driver's license number. The DD number apparently changes when you renew your license.

The bank and other places need the DD#.

I've been told that either will work 🙂 But have never been told why there are two in the first place.

I've never known which was correct so I've used both at different times.

Nobody has ever seemed too concerned nor questioned it.

I used CI number renting a car in the States this week....Alamo accepted it.
