Finally actually doing it! Hubs, baby, and I are moving out to stx, however our airline would only fly into stt. Does anyone know how I can contact a ferry to find out when I can plan on catching a ride? We will be there on april 28th at noon! Yay

There is no ferry to Stx. The only way to get there is by air. Several airlines fly from STT to STX.

How come you can't fly into STX instead of STT?
Maybe you should switch airlines if they can't get you to your destination?

planes fly here all the time from the mainland. and planes fly out all the time to the mainland.

and to further what alana said, call the airlines and ask them why they cant let you fly here

If you have to change planes, it might be easier to do so and fly to STX from Puerto Rico.

Sounds like the flight is already booked, so making a change would be expensive. Probably just that the airline they are on doesn't fly to STX on the day they want to travel. That would be my guess.

Check with Seaborne and Cape Air which run regular flights back and forth. If you're traveling with a lot of luggage, check their maximums.

"An airplane or airline that carries passengers relatively short distances and often serves remote communities and small airports." Like Seaborne, Cape Air, etc.

I am on a direct Delta flight from Atlanta to STX on May 9th. They have other flights from Atlanta to STX with a stop in Puerto Rico during the week that you are wanting to go there.

The OP's tickets are already booked.

I find it more difficult to get a reasonable fare with Cape Air since they began code sharing with Jet Blue.

Ally - you should have no problem getting a ticket with Seaborne Airlines for around $100/pp or less (one way) from STT to STX. You can book directly from their website. Make sure that you are selecting "airport" and not seaplane; otherwise you'll need more time (and a taxi ride) to get to the seaplane base. Also, you'll have to pay $1.25/pound for everything over 30 pounds of baggage. That rate may have changed as it has been a while since I've flown with them. There are exceptions to the 30 pound rule; you are allowed more depending on the cost of your ticket.

We booked with seabourne. I looked up Delta's flights and there wasn't anything within a week of our original fly date, cuz I wanted to see if I could just switch our flights with Delta. Oh well, I got it all figured out I think. Wish us good luck with a million layovers and a 6 month old baby haha! We have 4 hour's between our arrival time and our seabourne flight on stt, so we will have to figure out something to do in that time. Anyone know how the security is to get back into the airport? Since it's such a long time I'm thinking we should find something to do.

Lindberg beach is right next to airport.
There are a couple of restaurants on the beach. It's very pretty.
I don't know about security and going in and out of airport.

It's been a bit since I've been through STT airport but since you are flying inter-island to STX you won't need to go through customs and therefore will go through a different, less crowded security gate. I imagine going back through security should be no concern at all.

There's no security on flights from STT to STX. You have to check in 45 minutes before the flight.
