Driving into C'sted today I noticed that Food Fair is open. I went in, checked it out, and bought a few things. It's really, really nice and is certainly needed in that locale. It was almost a party atmosphere and fresh flowers were delivered as a gift while I was there. I wish them loads of luck but also know that they run a good business.

I noticed something. Customer Service. Two employees said hello and one asked me if I needed help finding anything. I hope the customer service and stocked shelves last. Good luck Food Fair!

Maybe the folks at Schooner Bay Market will drop by and take a few notes on how to run a store successfully. But...probably not.

Where is Food Fair located?

East of downtown Christiansted, about right across from the Pearle B. Larsen Elementary School... and bit farther east from Pickled Greek...

Went in twice today.
Great store and great service.
Produce to follow next week I was told.
Good prices. Hopefully will stay that way.
Will give schooner bay a run. Sb should close
Their doors now.

Very nice!! Fresh produce would definitely step it up! Went by Schooners a few days ago and they were having a sale on their Christmas and household items.

I went there this morning for the first time after finding Schooner Bay Market closed because of a generator meltdown. I was greeted warmly and amazed by the nicely stocked shelves and polite cashier. Goodbye Schooner Bay Market!!!

i like the people that work at schooner bay, they are always nice and it is never good for anyone when a place closes even if just for a day because those that work there need their jobs and money too

I went to Food Fair today. I will admit, it was clean, the people were nice and they did have a variety of what they carried. I was, however, disappointed. I thought it was going to be more of a gourmet style place like Schooner's used to be. They have no deli or any gourmet items. It's just a stateside version of a BP Connect convenience store that doesn't sell gas.

When we were there yesterday, he apologized for not having the deli and fresh fruits/veggies ready to go. He said that there should be fresh produce sometime next week and the deli counter will be in place after the beginning of the next year. Something to do with working out permits, etc.

I heard the Basic Butcher was going to be in Food Fair with fresh fish and a meat.

Having been in and out of Food Fair several times now, I'm not certain where there would be space for the Basic Butcher.

As for Schooner Bay Market, the sign used to say "opening Tuesday" but today it says "opening soon".

FOOD FAIR IS A NICE 7 11 TYPE STORE. I DO WISH SCHOONER BAY HAD STAYED THE WAY THEY WERE BEFORE THE DAYS OF EMPTY SHELVES. THEY HAVE A GREAT DELI, BAKERY AND PRODUCE AREA. THEY USED TO HAVE A GREAT STORE.

was much better when Cynthia (Thia) ran it. then it was run and stocked like a store should be.

Does she still own the building?

Yes - would like to see fresh fruits and veggies. Seem to have lots of wine and liquor - not complaining but maybe less of that and more food items.

Not much in veggies stocked now.
Ice berg lettuce 2.99 .
Noticed some things really high priced.
I know it's a convient store but was hoping for
Some better prices.
Oh well will be ok for quick item (s).
Are they more then food town?

A gallon of milk is $6.99. Much better than Ziggys $5.75 for a half gallon. Better than any of the other the other stores other than Pueblo or Cost U Less. All prices way better than Schooner Bay.
