Ah, ha! Gotta go to Gourmet Gallery for the die broke brands. Any other premium items while I'm there? Caviar? Truffles? Champagne?

I know they have truffle oil at Plaza. Truffle butter at Fruit Bowl, though they may have them at both places, too. I'm pretty sure I've seen those wines, too, but I'll check tomorrow.

Coffee brand or do you buy specialty brands online?

Alana, when I was in Ft Lauderdale last, I didn't find a big difference in prices from VI at the supermarket. Prices vary widely depending on city.

I am putting 'lunch meats" on the list, though I only buy deli ones. Will do pre-packed and gourmet gallery.

OMG! You guys are cracking me up! Thank you so much for the pricing updates. They aren't that different from San Diego where we are now! Awesome!

It is an eye opener, isn't it? Anything you want me to add to the list? I'll be adding more than I've already listed.

Can't give actual, per item, prices, but in FL, when I go to the organic farm, I fill a large "cold bag" to the brim. Can't even zip it closed. It's usually around $22.-$25. I took a Food Town plastic bag to the organic farm here on STX, didn't even come near packing it full. $47!!!

Frozen antibiotic free/hormone free chicken at Plaza is $15.99 for about 40 oz. I think the box says 7 pieces of boneless, skinless, breasts. So that's $6.40 per pound. In FL, at Fresh Market, their Tuesday sale always includes fresh chix breasts (same description) for $2.50 per pound. I think regular price is $4.99, but not sure, since I stock up on Tuesdays.

Band-aids...we buy the band-aid brand large flexible ones. In FL, they are under $3.00 a box. At K-mart on STX, over $6.00. So, no, I don't buy those locally. Drugstore.com!!

Also have to keep in mind freshness and quality. How many times have you bought prepackaged veggies, of some sort, just to find out the bottom (which you can't see in the package) is already going bad? Crackers are sometimes stale right out of the box. Potatoes are growing those root like things 2 days after buying. Anything dairy needs to be bought in small quantities and consumed quickly. Etc, etc.

On the plus side, this time of year, the tomatoes on STX can't be beat (still high price) and the farm fresh zucchini will spoil you forever from buying store bought.

Do any of the food stores on STT deliver to villas or boats? If so what is the charge?

Not the food stories but there are people that will shop for you.
Think Grocery Godess was one. Don't know if they're still doing so. Maybe someone else will know for sure.

If you charter a yacht from a local company, they offer provisioning services. You fill out your preference list and they shop for you.

Some of the high end villas offer provisioning. Of course, you pay for it.

Gourmet Gallery and Moe's Fresh Market deliver for sure.

This company lists their prices online.

It looks like Fresh Foods is strictly a delivery service, with no store you can visit.

Moe's is the former Marina Market in Red Hook and Fresh Foods is an online store.

Thanks. I've been to Moe' s once but didn't remember the name.
Don't get to east end often and when I do, it's not for grocery shopping. I quite forgot they were there.

Nice store, reminiscent of Marina Market tho different layout.
Good selections of products/produce, specialty items and meats
but very pricy, IMO.

Whenever I grocery shop in FL, I am always amazed at the lower prices I find. Whole Foods there are pretty comparable to our prices but the quality, freshness and wide range of selections are amazing including their ready made foods. You can get all kinds of soups, salads, sushi, deli selections and large choices of cooked meals, ready to eat and very tasty. I'd probably stop cooking if I lived there!:@)

I love going to stateside food markets. It's such a treat plus, they're so clean!

Fresh Foods VI has a warehouse in Bovoni that's open to the public. I guess they want to give customers more than just online access. Very nice owners and warehouse.
