Headlight Adjustments

Hello,

Will I need to have the headlights on the truck I ship in adjusted because it will now be driven on the left side of the road? Normally headlights are adjusted slightly to the right so not to blind the other driver and to see pedestrians along the edge of the road.

If so, will this need to be done before the initial inspection?

Thanks

No. It's one of those simple adjustments that really should be mandatory as it's hazardous driving at night when even low beams from oncoming vehicles are dazzling!

Although I wish people did adjust their beams, very few do. Its hard on my old eyes at night.

No need to re-adjust headlamps just leave your high-beams on ALL THE TIME like everyone else!

It's not high beams, and it can't really be adjusted for.

Our headlights are designed for vehicles that drive on the right side of the road, they there for allow light to shine up and to the right so that street signs will be illuminated as you drive by them.

Once you put the vehicle on the opposite side of the road the headlights which are designed to be useful and non-blinding to oncoming traffic are now exactly the opposite.

we NEED to change to the right side of the road, or require new headlights for every vehicle.. (changing sides of the road would be far easier).

Thanks for the replies.

I've got two new light assemblies that I'm going to put in before I ship it because the plastic is too dirty to clean. So once I get it on STT I'll adjust them the best I can.

One can buy headlight deflectors or on most cars can have a simple adjustment made by a mechanic.

Thanks, LF but I like driving on the left!
At least you can gage how close to the dropoffs, ghuts, gullys and cliffs.
Jeeze, can you imagine the nightmare switching would entail with our nutso drivers as it is?

I recently bought a headlight cleaning kit from Mother's via Amazon for 20 bucks. I could not believe how well it cleaned the plastic lens. They were like brand new when I was finished.

Glad to hear that stuff does work but I wasn't sure how well and if the "graying" would return. So for $45 bucks I got the two assy. and bulbs. I'll keep that kit you mentioned in mind for the next one I have to do.

Thanks

I use toothpaste and a rag on them and it turns out good.

That was an attempt at sarcasm.
