For those of us that are not on island full time/now - our prayers are with all those that are going to have to ride this thing out.

For those that are full time residents, where should we direct our donations to assist in the recovery? For Harvey - we supported the Red Cross or United Way - but where should we direct our assistance for the USVI; want to be sure that any donations we give and that we get local support for, goes to the best place.

Again - our hearts and prayers are with you all!!!

Getting through immigration and I seriously feel like Indiana jones and the last crusade: "I'M THROUGH". Flight leaving on time now just to make sure I don't get bumped. To all my fellow islanders who are seeing this thing through, god speed. Trite, but I really will be with you in spirit and holding you and the island closely in my thoughts.

All I am thinking is HOLY F*CKING SH!T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I hope everyone is spared. We must all pray.

Ivan veered away from Jamaica at the last minute.

Now cat 5. I'm not religious at all but even I'm praying to whatever's out there to spare the lives of all my fellow Islanders this is going to be terrible .

I droned all of Frederiksted and the ball park yesterday

Now 180 mph! I'm freaked out!

AT&T USVI Says It’s Prepared For Hurricane Irma

Let's see how this pans out.

I'm really hoping all that prep work is why we have "No Service" at the moment. :S

Stormcaribe brings center within 28 miles from STT. With hurricane force winds extending 60 miles, it's going to be a rough ride. Be safe. No matter our differences on things here, I wish you all the best.

Interesting...

U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp signed an emergency order allowing the seizure of private guns, ammunition, explosives and property the National Guard may need to respond to Hurricane Irma.

Mapp signed the order Monday in preparation for Hurricane Irma. The order allows the Adjutant General of the Virgin Islands to seize private property they believe necessary to protect the islands, subject to approval by the territory’s Justice Department.

Are they going to shoot at the storm? *-)

EAT covered their web cam with a clear plastic bag for protection. Looks like the fog rolled in.

we aren't even activated yet... those of us who work full time are working hard to prepare everything but the "call" has not gone out yet, I doubt it will untill after the storm if it's bad here on STX.. STT looks pretty screwed.

To all of my online friends, please be safe. Seems like every update is a little worse for us than the last. I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried. I quickly realized my priorities this morning when shoving crap in a bag. Secure the nest, forget the rest. I love you all, be safe, and I truly hope to hear from you all soon.

Hey everybody, I feel for you all, having not even arrived there quite yet (move planned for 2 October)...still, you've all been so helpful and generous with your info that I feel like I have a certain connection to many of you in various ways...be safe, will be thinking of you and in my prayers!

Is ATT service down all over STX? My husband is off island and doesn't do Internet. I'm sure he's upset my phone goes directly to VM.

text works well, internet is the absolute best right now (whats app or what ever your prefered app is) and I expect this to continue as the cell towers are completely overwhelmed right now with voice calls.

From everything I'm seeing St Croix will have a "rough time" and STT will get the worst of it, I don't expect sustained winds over 70mph tomorrow, maybe a few gusts that hit 120 or so but nothing super devastating..

STT could look like this:

Barbados 3 hrs ago:
