I HATE SPRINT

For the past few weeks Sprint has REPEATEDLY dropped my cell phone calls. No matter where I am on St. Croix, from Christiansted to the rain forest in west end, the calls drop and I have to call back over and over again. Sometimes I borrow my daughter's phone (she has AT&T) just so I can speak for 3 minutes without the call dropping. Everyone I know with Sprint has the same problem. I complained to Sprint and told them to look at my call log which shows I repeatedly redialed the same number. If they don't rectify this problem I am going to break the 2 year contract and sue them. Maybe class action suit will make them pay attention and find a solution.

I've been having a lot of trouble lately also... no Sprint service and no 3G for at least 8 different days this month. I called Sprint yesterday and they documented the issue and sent it out to their "teams" to check into it. Not sure any good will come from it but at least it's documented. Can't hurt for everybody experiencing trouble to call them... If we fuss loud enough and long enough SOMETHING will change...

I have a Sprint IPhone 5 and have been lucky to have a 1 minute call before being dropped for the past several weeks. My wife has a Sprint IPhone 4 and has had occasional issues but nothing close to my issues, and she has 10 calls to my one. Sprint says that our phones are connecting to different towers and a software update should correct my problem. However, the update will not go through due to a lost phone connection before the update can be completed. I plan to stop by the Sprint store here on STX sometime this week and see if they can correct the issue. But it is extremely irritating to not be able to use my phone as a phone. At least I can still use it for email as long as I have a WIFI connection.

No matter what service you have in the VI, I think you're eventually going to have an issue. If constant connection is an issue, and you don't have a job so you can connect to your employer's network, you should consider a backup connection on another carrier.

IDK about that. I have awesome service on my iPhone 5 using AT&T. Actually last two days I show LTE signal. We didn't get that here did we? I've actually not ever had a dropped call in STT but I did have them on my iPhone 4 when in STX on my PMV a year ago but mostly in the rainforest area.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself lol.

hmm... this is funny.... when I called Sprint yesterday to complain about the dropped calls they said they have not had any reported issues. Obviously you are all lying 😉

AandA: I am also getting LTE signal on my AT&T iPhone. I guess they quietly upgraded. Faster than my wireless signal at home.

Yea EE! I'm thinking about ditching choice now and trying some other sort of Internet here. I can use my cell as a mobile hot spot, may go that route. It's really fast!

4G data transfer with faster broader band.. Highly touted by Verizon, then followed by AT&T in the USA... and LTE class phone is required... it is much deeper than that, but this is a very basic idea...

It is not 4G compatible...but, 4G LTE areas are still very limited... my HTC (with AT&T) lets me know every time I am in a covered area... As for speed? It is impressive...

No need to replace your trusty reliable I-Phone 4....

As for the topic, I am already used to dropped calls and unstable service in STX... and that applies basically to all carriers... If it rains and/or gets windy, it is even worse... AT&T seems to have slightly better coverage though...

Supposedly there is a problem with some equipment that Sprint is rolling out as part of a upgrade, there was a article in the Daily News about it today.....

Yup. Husband and I are back in the states for almost two weeks now and we have been having the same problems with Sprint as we did on STT... sometimes worse. I was told by Sprint ppl about the upgrade they are doing nationwide. I'm not a techy, but my memory of the conversation goes something like " we are switching from these towers over to different towers so people in all areas of the country are experiencing dropped calls and are on roaming in areas where they weren't before. It will all be OK at some point in the future." That is just a rough synopsis. 😀

Here's a link to VIDN that may provide explanation for Sprint's lack of service:

If in the VI or Puerto Rico don't bother with Sprint Support in the states. Call their Puerto Rico (Carib Care) customer service at 877-859-9696.
