Good to see a move for faster speeds in the territory. Price is a bit steep but glad residents can now get up to 50Mbps if they choose too.

Anyone has and any issues with EVO going out. how reliable are the speeds?

I just have the basic package (on STT) but aside from a few glitches early on which were VERY promptly addressed and fixed, no problems at all and very happy.

I switched from BBVI when EVO was offered with 25mb.. I don't know if I've been bumped up to 50mb... I pay 100$ a month for 25 as far as I know.

It's very reliable and speeds don't drop off at night when everyone is using it. (st croix, west end)

ok sounds good. its 150 a month for the 50Mbps.

The uploads are 8Mbps on the package too. sucks when now there is cloud storage.

If innovative was by me i would mind trying them out though.

its physically possible; just might not be contractually possible quite yet...

VINGN won't even divide their speeds up below 100mb per site (though they only sell to ISPs currently)

VINGN will never be able to sell directly to public, its against their federal charter....

Cost?

$149.99

I'm an internet junkie, but 150$ a month seems ridiculous.

Compared to stateside prices for fiberoptic it doesn't seem way out of line at all. Looks like the Verizon 50 stateside is $139.95/month. Lots of special deals available from different providers with a low price to start and then jumping way up - and also a lot of "hidden" costs jacking up the basic monthly charge.

Prices in technology have ubiquitously dropped everywhere except for services.

"TV"
"Internet access"
"Cell phone use access"

All of these have either increased or stayed the same (when they should be at least dropping).

Just because it's ridiculous everywhere doesn't mean it's right 😉
