I spent hours yesterday waiting at their Tutu Park Mall location.
Got there at 1:50 PM to cancel my cable service, return a converter and change the name on the phone billing.
I was finally seen at 4PM. I finally got out of there at 4:35PM.

Additionally, my phone service has been out since 11/11. The repairman came yesterday, 11/29 to see what the problem was.
I, unfortunately, was stuck in the Innovative office so he now has to come back, hopefully, tomorrow to fix the problem inside the house.
He did fix the problem outside so maybe will have phone service back sometime soon.

3 weeks is entirely too long to wait for them to send a repair person to service a phone problem.
2 hours and 10 minutes is entirely too long to wait before someone can see you to return a converter and change a billing name.
Just about everyone in there had converters to return.
Absurd!(td)

I've never had that long a wait at their offices but if I have to go there for any reason to do business I get there early to avoid the crowds. And every time I've been there it's been Converter City even when it's not busy (which is why I love my DISH so much)! I know several forum posters think I must work for Innovative but, honestly and despite all the stories similar to yours that I've read and heard of, repair has never been an issue either at my former business or at various residences over the years. I'm patting lots of wood as I write this!

I do have to say that once I actually saw someone they were very nice and had a very professional attitude but obviously quite overwhelmed at the sheer numbers waiting for service, many of whom gave up and just left, only to have to come back another time to deal with a similar scenario.

I was there Tuesday. Took me 65 minutes to exchange a broken converter box. Went mid-morning cause I thought the morning rush would be over. Wrong.
Got home to find a second converter box had just gone bad. Ahhh!

Why people continue to use Innovative for anything is beyond me.

The minute I can switch over my business phone to VOIP and keep my number, I'll dump Innovative completely.

I agree with you Alana, but you have to give the new owners credit for trying to fix things. Rome wasn't built in a day. They are still installing new cable around the island. Yesterday when I passed through there I was told they have a new computer billing system, so it's happening slowly. Regarding the out dated boxes. They're being replaced with the new small ones, but some folks refuse to take them because there is no clock and you can't see what channel you are watching. duh. I have exchanged all of mine and no longer have those 5.00 codes or 00 codes. All is good. PS I don't watch it though. I've got Dish!! My guests aren't here long enough to make a difference them watching cable.

We cancelled our land line in 2010 and saved over $500 per year. We now use cell phones only at home at have an E-Fax number (we need a fax number as we work a lot from home) at a cost of $170 per year - still money ahead 🙂

Isn't it great how CFC/RTFC, the Washington DC bank that lent Prosser $600mil and now owns Innovative, goes out of their way to hire Continentals / Puerto Ricans to do all their marketing, accounting, fiber/cable runs, call center, etc.

To repeat what I just ;posted on that other thread:

"Another gross misconception. It's no secret at all and has been widely published throughout the media that Innovative has brought in temporary qualified workers to help install the new fiberoptic cables. Best to check the facts before subscribing and furthering wild allegations."

The minute I can switch over my business phone to VOIP and keep my number, I'll dump Innovative completely.

I have had my same phone number for decades so am afraid to get rid of land line as many people won't know how to contact me.

I am aware that ownership by Prosser left Innovative, their employees and customers in a time warp and financially drained but I was paying more for just their expanded service that I do now for Dish with way more channels to watch, plus I LOVE being able to record movies and watch them later, especially now that there's the time change in the programming. Just can't stay awake to watch my favorite shows that come on an hour later.

I know Innovative now has those new converters. Bundling would save money but same problems happen if something goes down and then it seems to take forever to rectify it. If I did not have a cell phone, I'd have been completely without a phone for 3 weeks which is impossible to do these days. It took my tenant almost 3 months to get her phone line installed!

I do wish them well and hope their service can catch up to the products they offer but I am happy only have 1 service to deal with from them and if I could do without it, I would.

I do miss the clock on the converter box, tho!

Lucky you who live in areas where you can get cell service. I'm completely dependent on innovative. I have no choice but them for DSL and phone service. I am so sick of ABC STX. I miss 90% of their programming because of weak signal issues. If they can't provide the service innovative needs to get another ABC affiliate. Two years of this nonsense is ridiculous.

I don't know what all the rules and regulations are about network feeds to the USVI but the problems with ABC aren't peculiar to Innovative cable. Same problems with DISH satellite unless you subscribe to network programming through All American Direct for which you pay separately. Maybe someone on the board who knows the ins and outs of this streaming can explain why we have to accept it through PR?

FCC rules, related to local advertising .

An antiquated rule in my opinion.

I think we should be allowed to get our networks from wherever we want., but the FCC says we have to get it from a local provider/

Again, Old Tart is wrong.
ABC is perfect on Dish Network in the VI, fed from the ABC Puerto Rico affilliate.
As is NBC and Fox....all in HD.
The CBS feed on Dish from WSEE has pixelation problems during football games.

What do you mean I'm wrong ("again"), twerp? Obviously you have better reception in your location but don't tell me I'm wrong when the evidence that I'm not is not only right in front of my eyes but has been commented upon by others who experience the same issues as I.

My ABC on Dish is perfect as well. Not sure what problem you are having OT. Have you reported this or had anyone check your signal?

Not yet but I will. I assume now it's a location-specific problem since I'm not the only one having the same problems (as you can see if you read back on this thread and others) both on STT and STX since the local feeds became available. I had no problems at all when my network feeds came through SF and NY via All-American.

Seems they have started to tweak the NBC feed from PR. Much better now.

OT - Call them/DISH/ directly and they can usually help/sovle problems.

BTW - I finally had phone service restored on Dec. 3 but while I could call out, phone would not ring for incoming calls.
Dec 5th and all is back to as normal as it gets here. Gee - not too long to be without service since they could not schedule to send someone to fix sooner. To add insult to injury, I got my bill yesterday for the full amount. Will have to call tomorrow to make sure the lenghty service interuption is deducted from the next bill! Cheese 'n Bread!

So, like most services here, the ONLY thing you can rely on is a bill!
Oh well, nice view tho!:-)

Noticed the improvement last night. Still some odd "pops"/sound distortion when the show's volume increases (dramatic music, etc.) but there's definitely been improvement so hopefully some continued tweaking will solve the remaining little problem!

Vonage works here. We kept our number from the mainland. People call the 610 area code and get 340. 😉

Of course, if you have problems with your high-speed Internet Vonage isn't the answer. But we don't, so it works perfectly for us.

Now, if only I didn't have to switch mobile phone providers...mine doesn't work here.

I get ABC on Dish and WABC from NYC on Dish using AAD. The HD picture quality on the ABC from PR is far superior. I plan on dropping my ABC affiliate feed from AAD when my subscription is up for renewal. Will keep the Fox feed only on AAD to get the World Series and other sporting events that the PR ABC doesn't have rights for.

Fox is alss availble in HD through the PR feeds. Currently I am holding on to my AAD as I like the option of west coast feeds. Especially when recording three shows at the same time on different networks sometimes.

Yes OT, the popping is still there but the sound is much better.
