I REALLY need to find one of those large plastic outdoor storage locker things. I cant get one shipped here and its driving me crazy. If I MUST I will STT cargo it but I am not really happy with them and would like to poll and see if anyone has suggestions on where to get one of these on island.

Like this: https://www.wayfair.com/outdoor/pdp/suncast-2-ft-8-in-w-x-2-ft-2-in-d-plastic-vertical-tool-shed-xa1625.html

Sorry I know this isn't really relo lol but I am about to loose my mind. We had like half our tools and crap blown all over the deck and down the hill from that massive wind storm.

PS - I cant believe that Target wont even ship to a freight forwarder! So dumb.

is there an ACE hardware over there on STT that could special order one for you? GBH would do that on STX. Sometimes they will even order extras of special orders to sell if they think there is demand.

Amazon will ship Rubbermaid Outdoor Vertical Storage Shed, Plastic, 17 cu. ft., 2 ft. x 2 ft., Olive/Sandstone (FG374901OLVSS) to the VI.

International logistics might be an option for freight forwarding. All of the logistic companies have been so busy that they are dropping the ball a lot. I've been forced to use them on st Thomas because the customs building and the tropical buildings on st john were heavily damaged. Every thing has to be cleared on st Thomas now. You also may want to check with SeaChest and see if they can get it for you. St John Hardware sells space in their weekly container for freight forwarding. I use them sometimes for smaller shipments because they handle everythung and just give you a bill. Its some what expensive but it is often worth it to not have to deal with the hassle.

I pretty much stopped going to the STX Home Depot. Its so poorly stocked and managed that its more reliable to order from HD online.

Just curious do you mean post hurricane or all the time? I work at their competitor in the states and was actually amazed at their in-stock position being on an island and the logistics of freight flow there. Now if your talking post hurricane, yes, they are greatly missing sales as they are empty in many key categories.

I will say, they have always had sufficient help on the floor, but you need to ask for it. They rarely will offer it, but I can't say I have had a bad experience yet even though I hate shopping at my rival. Maybe I'm more understanding as I work in retail and know how things go and understand the other side. 🙂

Anyways, just curios, like to know your perspective on this. Thanks.

If you think STX HD is out of stock then for sure don’t come to STT! Haha! We have all the BVIers that shop here too!

Speaking of... OMGGGEE wtf happend to STT OfficeMax? Holy crap! The STX store had major water damage and the ACs ripped off but my fiancé had it open in like two weeks and was gettin in new stock on containers and physically calling in out of stocks to corporate.

We went in to STT Omx and my fiancé was in shock - after running that store for three years and running OMX stores for 17years. How that SM still has his job is beyond me! Was is bad before the storms? There’s like no product and lawd it’s ridiculously hot!

Its just too frustrating to go there and find basic merchandise not available/out of stock. At least when I order it online, I have the peace of mind of knowing when I pick it up at the forwarder, what I wanted will be there.

I feel the pain. Just ordered a couch online and had it sent via FF. It’s on its way. Just ZERO selection here other than ugly and butt ugly. Silk greenery had one nice one but it was like sitting on cement... and for 2k. Na.

Let’s hope the new couch isn’t a rock either lol. Had good reviews at least. Also ordered a 36inch round mirror and a cool mid century modern chair. All from overstock or wayfair. Frustrating to wait but at least I get what I want. I can’t believe the sofas that some of the furniture places bring in. Seriously it’s 2017 not 1993. Velvet big plush round arms - I think I’ll puke. Hahah!

Also find fixtures SO MUCH cheaper online! Amazon for bathroom and kitchen faucets - got slick fixtures for like $30 vs $200 here at Home Depot. Nice new modern ones too! Those all shipped USPS so what a deal! Same with shower head, ceiling fans etc. our rental needed a serious upgrading! Haha. Starting to feel like home and all put together.

As much as I want to support and buy local, its really tough to do simetimes for those two reasons. Selection and crazy high prices. I'd love to see some local places step it up by offering special orders at reasonable prices. St John Harware's piggy back shipping is the closest thing we have. It probably pays for their shipping of their weekly container of regular stock.

Would be great of HD would do ship to store online orders for their standard stuff but they don't seem to want to be bothered with that. Instead you can special order at the store and wait 4-6 weeks.

Its much faster to send your online order to your freight forwarder.

I've started to do that. But then I don't need HD. I can order from anybody for the right product and right price and ship to the forwarder. But it would be more convenient if we could just order from HD ship to store like anywhere else without all the extra steps.

Adrian, come by!
I'm getting rid of some things you might find useful.

Thanks again for the pics of how tenants had the inside of my home which had no damages, looking.
It was pretty disgusting!
They're outta there. Now we get to fight over the security deposit!
No fun being a landlord, folks.
