Is it really worth it to rob a McD? I wonder what they got.

Would you want to "night drop" a bag of cash? Anyone handling cash at a bar/fastfood needs "harzard pay".

Better question would be which employees knew that it wasn't, if that's the case.

Most businesses I'm familiar with drop the cash and checks each night into a safe. Two keys required to open it, one by management and one by an armed guard from an armored truck company. I have no idea how McDonalds works but if that is true I'd bet any amount of money on "inside job."

Yep. And they gotta take it out and count-up the draws and fill out the deposit slips sometime. Inside or somebody who figured out the procedures.

If I worked a bar, I'd walk out naked, so the teefs would know I was holding no cash.

All hearsay and speculation at this point. Every savvy business has its cash procedures and stashing procedures.

Does anyone have any real knowledge to impart?

I feel robbed every time I go to McDonalds on STX. The amount of time they've stolen from me while they stand around wondering what to do is criminal. Its amazing how a well developed system like a McDonalds can go so wrong. Maybe its just me.

I'm sorry for anyone innocent employees who got caught up in this, times are certainly getting tougher it seems.

On a side note-

Anyone who eats at Mcdonalds should have their head examined. The food you put in your body is your fuel to think, move, and carry on day to day activities. Crappy food = crappy performance. Good wholsome food = Good performance.

I like to think of myself as a Ferrari. Would I put 87 octane watered down from Dominos gas station into my body? Hell no! I put the high test Chevron Techron Supreme! In other words, the healthier you eat, the better you feel and the better everything works.

Wanna know if you have a good doctor? When you go in with a problem, if the first question is not "what does your diet consist of" find a new one. Much can be tied to what we eat and drink.

Ok rant over.

I went into McDonald's on Saturday to pick up a quick lunch (yes, I know-horrible food). Walked in since the drive thru line had over 15 cars waiting. 2 people in line in front of me--no biggie. Stood there over 15 minutes before one of the over 20 people working behind the counter asked the person in front of me for their order. 10 kids came running up to the lady waiting to order and not a single one of these kids knew what they wanted. REALLY? You don't know what you want to order at McDonald's! There aren't that many choices people! Waited another 10 minutes and they still had not made up their minds. Realizing what a waste of time this was, I walked out and went home. I agree with vicanuk about being robbed of my time.

Ah, but the secret is not to go at the busiest times of the day - lunchtime and post-school (don't know about evening hours). I hop in there once in a while as I like their salads and their coffee but never think about it if I look in and see either a ton of cars in the lot or a long line at the counter.

Back to the robbery... Does anyone know if any cash was actually stolen? If not, why all the speculation about night drops and inside jobs?

I ventured into McDonalds in Golden Rock last night after Sunset Jazz.

It seemed like they had fired all the old, unhappy people and hired shiny, new smiling teenagers.

My food was served hot and fast and not one of them sucked their teeth at me!

Maybe there is still hope.

It's not fair to say that the old staff was fired. Could have been a shift change. Do you know for a fact that the new hires, didn't suck their teeth when your back was to them as you were leaving.

Maybe the old staff quit. May they considered minium wage just not worth putting their lives at risk. Did cops make any arrests after last week-end's rash of fast=food robberies?
