Well after great 7 year run here on St. Croix it's time to go.

The availability of proper health care has raise it's ugly head and my wife has won the argument.

That being said, this Forum was a great help to me before and during our move from California.

Now I have a question for the move in the opposite direction.

Who would be the best moving company to contact to handle container loading, shipping to Jacksonville, Florida and subsequent trucking to our destination in Lake County Florida?

Thanks in advance

Always sorry to hear of people experiencing serious health issues, It’s surely the number one problem here. My wife and I, undoubtedly like others before us, knew the condition of health care when we moved to the VI. It’s a gamble, hoping health care will improve by the time you need it.

25 years ago my parents retired to AZ. The town they settled in was beautiful, but had limited health care options, and Pheonix was a three hour drive away. About 5-7 years ago there was a big improvement in local healthcare’s options, just when they really started needing it. My wife and I are hopeful the same will happen here.

I suggest you consider moving companies that transport through Miami, too.

Health care in and around The Villages has improved a lot in the past few years. I hope it meets your needs.

Lack of health care options is scary in the USVI.

BTW - Bougainvillea Clinic on Tortola has opened the Kendall Griffith Heart Cath Lab (oh the irony). They are flying EP and interventional cardiologists to patients rather than patients to cardiologists. Interesting concept.

Ca Dreamers, I remember that Alana33 posted detailed info about her move from STT to FLA. Maybe send her a private message, or search for her posts.

Good morning CD all the best in the next chapter of adventures ☺️. When we moved  in May 2014, so not sure of their current status, but we used brandon transfer to pick up our coontainer from our house in Solitude and ship to West palm beach, florida, where we even stored it for several months while we traveled. They later bought the container from us, so we used some of their guys to move our items to our new house in Jensen Beach (about 1 1/2 hrs  south east of Orlando. At the time, our quote included delivery within a certain distance. We did not have a final destination yet, as we were doing an extended US motorhome trip.  Steve Lewis in West Palm Beach, FL office was our contact. Ps I remember meeting you guys when our house was for sale ☺️ if you get to the Jensen Beach area sometime let us know. Several stxers, stts and bviers in our area!

The reality is that very few of us will die here.

I'm here for a good time, not a long time.

I used Viking.

They were great. Came and picked up what I'd already packed, stored it, came back again, packed up the rest. When I was ready,  they shipped it, dealt with cutoms, etc., delivered to my house in FL, unpacked everything and put in place where I wanted.

Nothing broken or damaged.

Made it easy for me.

You might try A1 Auto Transport — I know they offer moving services to and from US and I *think* they do container transport too. It's been a while since I've used them, but they're probably not a bad option if you're headed back to the US since they're headquartered there even though they do ship to VI and other places around the world. At the very least, they can probably get you an estimate so you know what kind of price you're looking at. Good luck with the move!

We moved to Naples, FL just over a month ago and used Blue Ocean Transport. They delivered a 45’ container to our STX home, where we had movers load it. After arriving to Port Everglades, the container was driven to a storage facility in Naples, where again we had movers unload it. We used Blue Ocean when we moved to STX 2.5 years ago and used them to deliver furniture we purchased in the Mainland when setting up the STX home, and have been very satisfied with their services.  They also shipped our two cars to Port Everglades from STX.  I understand you want the container delivered to Jacksonville and do not know if they can do that. But I bet they can drive it to your new home from Port Everglades. Best of  all to you and your wife! Please pm me if you want cost info or other details.
