Hi, we are wanting to come in January with our 3 daughters. Safety is our #1, and being close to good schools is our #2. Can anyone give me some guidance on areas we should focus on. We'd like to rent before buying!

Thanks!!

You have children. Will you have health insurance?

Which island?

No individual health insurance plans available at this time.

We have three islands here. Good idea to rent before buying. Better idea is a PMV, pre Move Visit. Neighborhoods here are different than in the states, very different. No way to explain unless you come yourself.
We are under current hurricane warnings here and don't be offended if you don't get many responses at this terrible time. Also, website and all communications will more than likely be down for days, if not weeks, very soon.

Hit that search button...every single subject has been covered, I'm sure.

We are coming with 2 boys to St. Croix. I'm seeing houses/condos with bars on the windows and doors. We are looking in the North A B, South area and West side. We like the lush land area. Are we looking in a safe area? Of course, there is crime but I'm talking about having to put bars on the windows and doors, feeling trapped in the house after dark.

Bars are 2 fold, for safety from crime and safety from debris flying at your house during hurricanes. I live in town and we have bars on our windows and our front patio has bars. It doesn't bother me except when I go to take photos. Plenty of houses don't have bars. You need to be here in person to check out the areas.

Compared to other islands I've seen much less bars on windows and galleries on STX.
