from a fishing trip. Their boat motor gave out on them so they had to paddle the boat over to inner Brass Island and had to wait to be rescued. The Coast Guard responded as well as several locals to help locate them, which they were found safe about 5:00am Thank God and thank all who helped locate them and get them home safe to their families.

Read about it - only emphasizes how important it is to let others know where you're going!

Glad they're home, safe and sound.
If they'd had flares, I'd have seen them from my deck since I look right down at Inner Brass.

French guys who go out fishing at least with my family are lucky to carry, chewing gum & bailing wire. The one had a cell phone, but on the one day he left it out home. Now did they learn from this experience and start carrying an emergency alert kit on board? Probably not.:S because this is they way they have always done. The spark plug burnt out of the boat motor, which was only about a year old. They don't do maintenance either, or at least their maintenance is that when it stops working, pitch it and get another one.
