Went to Csted for dinner and parked on Kings Cross St by Holger Danske and when I got out of the car the sink of sewage was so bad I lost my appetite
Got to wonder what the tourists think about the smell

Check out yesterday's AVIS- all west end beaches are closed until further notice. There is an article in there about a force main breaking in Fredricksted, so all the untreated wastewater is being diverted to the ghut right next to an elementary school (can't remember the name). All cruise ships will be notified of the beach closures.

I find this inexcusable. Get a crew out, isolate the section where breakage occurred and divert the flow to other force mains. No need to dump raw sewage into the ocean. :X

Here's a related article from yesterday:

We also noticed how bad the smell was by Angry Nates and the parking lot the other day.
Seemed worst then I remember.

I was at the board walk thursday night & walked past Angry Nates & didn't notice anything, I was also in the water just north of F'sted with a lot of people from the ships (rainbow beach I think it was called) & also didn't notice anything there.

They must be pretty bad about telling the ships, there was a catamaran there also, the Jolly Mon with a bunch of people as well as jetski rentals and a fly board.

Rainbow is far enough north of the Fsted spill that it should not have been affected
But you think that with all the visitors on the boardwalk that WAPA, or who ever, would make keeping it cleaned up and in good shape a priority
How may visitors go home telling their friends the STX smells like a outhouse

It definitely should be the highest priority; especially when it seems so much of STX is dependent on tourism
