i actually think he is correct. people on facebook groups keep complaining that help isnt there ( since before the storm hit he has done everything to make sure the virgin islands would have the help it need ) help has been here since day 1
people keep complaining that it isnt out there on the main stream news-it has been since day 1
people complain the power is out-2 islands were devastated. infrastructure cant be repaired in a week. its not like on the mainland where other states can just send down linemen and their trucks to help out.
other islands have pitched in to help. since day 1. other groups and organizations are doing as much as they can. help has been arriving every day.
in the states there have been 3 major events that have also taken federal money. the virgin islands cant have it all. you have harvey, you have irma in florida ( pretty much the whole state ) and you have all those fires up north east.

just what should be done that isnt being done?

should he have sugar coated the situation? or just been straight up truthful about it.

People on some of the Facebook groups are expecting miracles. If only they'd spend more of that energy helping those that need it, instead of bi+c#ing.

Although, he is sugar-coating the situation when he goes on national media. I wish he'd stop that.

The sugarcoat is what I dont like. I agree that people that havent been through aftermath of a storm are expecting too much, that being said it does seem lack of coordination in aspects is a problem.

Former mayor Michael Bloomburg who had to manage the Sandy recovery effort in NYC is coming to the VI I think today with a few of his experienced folks to provide assistance in how to manage/cordinate the Irma recovery.

One problem we are facing today. We don't have any hotel rooms to put my technicians coming over from STX to fix STT. There are 2 STX tower climbers staying at a friend's house.

Things are getting done, thats for sure. It could always be smoother but I'm proud of the people in the VI. Its a good place to call home, mashed up or not.

I read that online - so awesome that Bloomberg is coming!

I hope the heavy rains did not delay his visit.

Beeski, You should look into the FEMA plane that leaves from next to UPS at the airport on STX every morning at about 1000 to STT, and then returns at 1600. Its free for DoD and military. They may let your technicians use it if you ask and tell them you can't find rooms in STT. I took it yesterday and there were several open seats. I don't have a number for them, but there are people at the UPS location at the airport all day you could talk to.
