Does anyone know another vet? I tried getting my cat's flea meds at Sugar Mill, but the 1 they have just doesn't seem to work as well. Or an online site that has no problem shipping to STX?

Progressive Vet just up the road from where Island Animal Clinic was. It's across the street from Blues BBQ

Revolution offers feline parasite protection from fleas, heartworms, roundworms (Toxocara cati), hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) and ear mites. It is the best product I have ever used for cat parasitic protection!

Couldn't agree more! AND, I have one cat - quite the prima donna - who's totally and immediately allergic to all the others similar to Revolution as well as to flea collars. Dunking a hysterical cat in the sink to wash off a product which has turned her into a whirling dervish is no fun at all and when Revolution first came out my vet (bless his heart) assured me that it would work with no ill effects even on this ultra sensitive madam - and he was right! The damned cat still takes a dump on the bathroom floor NEXT to the litter box if I forget to take her outside in time (really, it's ridiculous but she refuses to go out under her own steam) but at least she's flea, tick and ear-mite free ... 😀

I understand Dr. Michelle is looking into coming back to stx. She was one of the best vets we've ever had, even giving Paul a run for his money. She'll be visiting soon, and if any of you have the chance to encourage her, please do so!

I wonder what happened to our records?

I don't know. I understand that House took everything. Not sure if that was meant to include paper records too. Good riddance to that bastard.

as for the records, you can contact them through facebook and they will send you the records.

Dr. House is an amazing Vet and did a fabulous job on reconstructive knee surgery on my dog.

She doesn't like vets and is horrible when at the office, he understood her anxiety and we were able to come up with a plan of action that worked.

They did awesome community service for animals on this island. Huge loss to see them leave.

When we heard they were closing, my wife went down and obtained a copy of our records.

Thanks so much everyone. It has been convenient just going down the road each month for Revolution, so I am hoping Progressive has it, but free USPS shipping is the next best thing.

For what it's worth, you can order online all these types of meds without a prescription from Australia. They consider all of these items over the counter meds and will ship to the US. It's one of the options I'm looking into for my puppy.

Most of the vets on STT sell it. I would imagine that's the case on STX. Shipping from Australia to the VI would take forever!
I've found the local prices comparable to purchasing on line.
Think one must also have a Vet prescription to order online.

The latest on my quest, after PetMeds put my order on hold because they could not contact House & Hess is this: Sugarmill has said they will call when they get Revolution, as they usually carry it but were out on the day my husband went there. Meanwhile I will see if I can find House or Hess on facebook. The phone for Progressive seems to be disconnected. More later...

I did not find Tom House on facebook. I messaged a Paul Hess who lives on STX. I don't know from the photo if he is the right Hess, as I have only ever seen House.
